The creature let out another eardrum-rattling squeal as the blasts of radiant power slammed into it. The first, splashing against the creature's hardened scales, didn't seem to have much impact. The other two, however, scorched across the weakened scales and burned the disgusting scales raw, showing dark purple ooze beneath.
The monster seemed to take this as evidence that Thedithas was the most dangerous threat. The tendrils on its underside lashed out, wreathed in paralytic poison to try and wrap the elf around, before the jaws descended in a powerful bite!

The thing's tentacles lashed at Thedithas, leaving behind a sticky residue that seemed to eat at at his muck-flecked skin. The unpleasant tingling was enough to make him instinctively recoil from the thing's jaws, though, and he quickly stepped back from the dripping fangs.

As the other start there attacks the monster, Nolul quickly cast Shillelagh in order to help them fight it. However, before he moved for his attack, he remembers that there was one more now and he should be pretty badly injured after the beating he got form us, so he turned to him and try to see his state.

Seeing his comrades leap into action as well, Thedithas followed up his initial salvo with another blast of radiant energy. This aberration had displayed vulnerabilities, and the Elf was of a mind to exploit them.

The ex-rat-man looks pretty shell-shocked by this turn of events, and is looking paralysed with fear more than anything else. He's definitely not going to be any good in the upcoming fight.
The crossbow bolt lodges painfully in the side of the oozing wound of the creature.
The monk's blast of power went wide and shattered stone in the ceiling above. The monster continued to lash out - this time flailing its tendrils at Gorien as its jaws attempt to snap down on Thedithas a second time, completely ignoring Nolul and the gibbering soul pulled from the sewer.

Looking at the human veteran cowering in fear, Nolul gave him a friendly look - "Do not fear human, we'll kick this thing ass, well, if he as one i think, haha" - laughed Nolul - "Just stay behind us!" - shouted while running towards the monster.
With his quaterstaff rise up Nolul prepare to hit the monster on the torso.

As the group unleashed assault after assault on the flailing, screaming creature, thick plates of chitin broke from its side and its thrashing took on a more desperate aspect. It reared back on its hind-quarters, and then came smashing down, aiming to drop its full weight onto Thedithas and Gorien both.
Unfortunately for the monster, it had been entirely ignoring Nolul this whole time, and the dwarf's magic-infused staff met it on the way down. The beast's full momentum slammed into the weapon, which smashed its torso inwards as though it had slammed itself full-force into an immovable oak tree, not a comparatively tiny length of wood.
With a last dying rattle, the Carrion Crawler slumped backwards against the wall of the sewer, gurgling out its last as it was laid low.

With a prayer of grateful thanks, Thedithas closed off his conduit of solar Power and knelt down beside the injured man now in their company. "So, my friend," he asked, "what can you tell us of the sewers? We've been tasked with investigating, and any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated."

"So ah, dident they want the head of whatever thing we killed down here?" Gorian steps lightly towards the felled beast with shortsword in hand. He pokes it and begins to test where the soft spots are. "I really dont wanna cut this thing up if I dont have to, you know"

After the fatal blow towards the abomination, Nolul saw it’s final moves before it fallen dead. Seeing the elf monk pray, Nolul himself also prayed for this tormented soul born from evilness get a better afterlife.
After hearing what Gorian had to say, Nolul intervenes: “Corporal spoke of noises. The noise should be that thing” – pointed Nolul towards the insect-like monster – “However he also talked about someone that carried things towards the shore. I think it’s that someone that we need to retrieve and not that monster.”
“Friend,” – said while turning his head towards the veteran – “As my elf college said, do you know anything about that last part?”

The man in filthy armour looks pretty thoroughly traumatised at this point. He's not quite frantic, and he keeps his voice low, but the impression is very much that this is because he's doing his best to stop himself from freaking out completely.
"I ain't got a clue." He says, managing, just about, to get to his feet again. "Last I remember I was ..." His brow furrows. "... I was sleeping at the Ruddy Tap, next thing I know, I'm waking up down here covered in shit with you people fighting some sort of, demon! Where the fuck are we, the sewers?!"

Looking towards the man, Nolul asked - "Did you ever experienced something similar, of just waking up not knowing how you got there?"
