With the other bookkeeping request for the social thread, there is enough Exp to level up. When ready Kai, here is level four sorcerer Citrine. I also re-worked the profile layout and added more details where I felt were lacking. Any stat upgrades, skill increases, feats, etc were added to this version of her character profile. Also includes the 3gp 5 silver spent in the Merrily We Sailed Along thread.

- Long, thick mane of cedar-red hair with feathers growing from the nape of the neck and within her hair. Within the mass are trinkets, braids, shiny things, small tokens, metal, and feathers from other species
- Dark freckles with a pale skin tone that tans easy. Skin is covered in light reds-through-oranges-and-yellows soft downy feathers, but skin shows through on arms, thighs, face, and front of torso
- Several tattoos: Orange-red fox on the left wrist, ice blue wolf on the right. Left arm in full sleeve of henna mandolin designs. Large kraken on right thigh, other nautical themes throughout. A thin, heavily detailed/many armed silver snowflake covers the skin above the heart. A tree of life with symbols representing the 5 elements, core four plus darkness, cover the shoulder blades and back – barley seen under her wings and slightly feathered skin
- Honey-amber bird of prey eyes, usually lined in black kohl
- Bird of prey feet, rougher scales rising to the lower calf. Can be hidden with painful difficulty. Wrap the toes and feet in a binding cloth, then jammed into lace-up tall boots
- Scents of candlesmoke, ash, and clove linger around her presence. Other emotions evoke other scents, stemming from the feathers on her wings
- Tail feathers extend like a dancer skirt around her hips, and longer crest feathers droop back over her head like hair
- And… her wings? Well… I’ll let a memory tell the story:
Her body went limp as Orin pulled, and pulled, and pulled – taking all of the hate, anger, fear, and frustrations she’d been feeling since she recalled her time in Wonderland. Her body hit the ground as she was momentarily snuffed, like a candle flame, and felt for once no emotions at all whatsoever. It was like….leaning against her gravestone. How could she remember that? She wasn’t dead… was she? A flutter of feathers caressing her back told her otherwise. There are more ways to die than just losing life, an ancient chirp cooed in her ears. Before she could question it she felt her back heat up to the point of nearly passing out yet again- as a wrenching feeling jolted her back into reality.
Her wings, when she came too and shakily spread them out to their fullest reach, would top off at 12 feet wide, tip-to-tip. The distinct 5 droopy ‘fingers’ distinguished the rather gull-like looking wings to clearly define them as those belonging to an osprey. Grimacing Rain shook and trembled as the she flexed her wings for the first time in this life. The wings themselves were overall long and somewhat narrow, a continual rectangle shape. The bright fire colors shimmered in the light from the oil like protections that coated every individual feather. Lifting them up then down again to stretch her new muscles a gust of wind buffeted the ground sending dust spiraling into the air around her, motes of smoke spiraling off of them. As she bent them it could be seen that from the ‘elbow’ to wingtip the span was at least 3.5 feet per wing, half the wingspan alone. They were wings built to pilot and navigate in strong sea-level storms and gales.
She was both a firebird and a sea hawk… and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Whereas, however, osprey wings were cream, buff, tan, brown, and white her phoenix wings were a pale yellow, rich amber, dark burnt orange, deep ruby red and citrine. The colors seemed to smolder like embers in a fire and with a kree-cree shout they burst with the scent of candlesmoke, ash, clove, a warm salty breeze, a hint of wood polish, sulfur, spearmint, smelling salts, a rolling thunderstorm… nearly every emotion cycling at this minor form of rebirth. She shook her back like a dog and she felt long feather brush at her calves. There, unfurling down from her spine were the long, slightly wispy, barred primary feathers in the same color as her wings. She felt prickles as the rest of the tail feathers grew around her waist, the full effect making it look like she wore a dancer skirt that was missing in the very front, short in the sides but growing longer as they grew to her tailbone around her waist with a ‘tailcoat’ skirt behind her. The longest ones seemed almost 20 inches long and touched her lower calf, while the others never went past her thighs.
The little soft downy feathers she had previously were changing as well. The downy feathers along her shoulders, down her back, thighs, and neck molted and floated to the ground, and in their place quickly grew stronger contour feathers in the same dark amber and reds as her wings. Her scaled legs from the mid-calf down darkened from the light yellow they were to more of a boot leather brown and the talons became slightly reverse-jagged on the inside curve.
However, there on her back, were what would look like whip lashes on her back among the drying blood – the claw marks from where the phoenix had broken through via anger, fear and other potent negative emotions. Had the emotions been different? Well… She’d never know how different her back might look. Looking at Orin she started cracking her fingers and shoulders. Someone deemed it… probably Fate… that the resident ‘seven’ year old needed wings in addition to her misty step abilities.

How old is the ocean? The trinkets lost in time? Or the cliffbank wind? Age means nothing when you spend your lifetimes living life to the fullest. For that’s what she is, a being of reincarnation and life – a phoenix. Firebird though she is, and lifetimes experienced, sometimes starting fresh is all that’s needed to gain a new perspective on your own life and those around you. Or forgetting a past. Her race origin is a well-guarded secret, one only a scant number of people know. But she’s traveled far and long this time around, and those who have the key are leagues behind her. Bard. Fighter. Druid. Ranger. Pirate. Human. Elf. Kitsune. Halfling – she’s experienced it all and has the stories to boot. But those songs haven’t been sung in a long time, memories too painful to remember, even with booze loosening her tongue.
