Born into a wealthy family in Waterdeep, Georgina was raised the middle of two siblings. The older brother, Gabriel, and the younger sister, Gwendolyn. All three of them were raised in the light and expectations from the wealthy and successful. Do not embarrass the family. It is expected to be top of the class in the academy. You are to go into the healer's or wizard's profession to carry on the legacy of the Heiss Herbs Potions and Tinctures: known throughout the Coast as an expert supplier of herbs, potion ingredients, and finished health-related goods. Gabriel, the older brother, from the start, was raised and groomed to take over Heiss Herbs Potions and Tinctures (HHPS). Gabriel was expected to take his father's place when he retired as a valued and trusted Nobleman. Gwendolyn was the princess of the family, doing all she could to please their parents and not bring embarrassment to the family name. She was expected to marry rich and bring more resources to the family name.
And Georgina?
Well. Georgina did extremely well in school, though never good enough according to her parents. She had an instinctual knack for diagnosing problems and medical mysteries in scrolls, but none of the drive to document or follow standard procedures. She'd spent her higher learning years memorizing medical scrolls, learning all about the body, its systems, how it all works, to be the very best as her parents expected it of her despite the strain it caused…learning all she could of life - and death. It was good enough until she was involved in a serious cut-throat hostage situation that left her with an amputated left arm. Her parents panicked, forced a team of wizards to experimentally attach an augmentation prosthetic onto their daughter to keep her from being fully disabled. What good was owning a potion company if they couldn't assist their daughter?
It was during this time in 'surgery' that she dipped in and out of life and death, wishing she'd have the power to truely make a difference at this on-the-fence moment instead of being at the mercy of potions. At the mercy of her parents. Quietly, like the grave, Kelemvor slipped into her mind and chose her as one of his clerics, despite no religious training. Her medicine background, and a desire to work within that moment of life and death? It was enough.
After the panic though? Her parents were enraged. A cleric in their family? Not the Heiss! She was to never showcase her abilities, never let anyone see her perform divine skills (seen as lesser compared to the arcane of wizards), and never do anything that might bring more shame to the family. At 18? Gigi feared for her life. She was a disgrace in the Heiss household…
Stealing a hefty sum from her inheritance account (before she could be removed from the family will) Gigi wished her brother and sister goodbye and went to live with a thieves group that she had assisted as a sort of medical 'fence' in the past. A group that couldn't afford seeing a cleric or healer and didn't mind being treated by a young upstart medic. A group known at the Little Birds. Full of people with various skills, magical gifts, and all bonded together through the group's leader, Thaeus; a commanding and intimidating presence who called himself Momma Mystic. She was paired off with to two other Birds - Ninette and Arlo Fahan, fraternal twins. Ninette, Nine for short, had a similar experience to Gigi's (and followed the balance of Kelemvor as well) while Arlo had fine tuned skills in illusions and memory alterations.
Gigi spent the rest of her teenage years, then well into her adulthood, living with the Little Birds, stealing and generally becoming a well-established outlaw within their ranks, Gigi, outlaw name Pixie, made a reputation for herself for being a solid healer, able to quickly and discretely perform operations or surgeries that were otherwise unsavory, too expensive in the main stream, or acts of desperation by the patient. She dabbled in recreational drug creation. Experimented on her own augmented arm to try and keep it "up to date". Only once was she ever caught by the law, flogged, and sent to spend time in the dungeons - all for a crime she didn't commit. Otherwise?
