History: Stephen Ward joined the City Guard in Waterdeep at a relatively young age. He scored well on the written tests, and managed to past the physical test. Being a native of the city, he soon found he had a knack for finding things out. While he wasn't very useful in a physical alteration, he excelled at the mental side of his work. Searching crime scenes, connecting evidence, he loved it all. When the city faced a serial killer, Stephen's skills were used to help locate the woman responsible, and he gained the attention of several higher ups in the City Guard. He was soon offered a transfer to the Waterdeep City Investigators division, and he gladly accepted.
After another round of training, Stephen was an investigator. Badge in hand, he began working to protect the city he grew up in. Whether it was murder, slave trade, drugs, or worse, he was always on it. Until a ghost came back to haunt him. The woman he had put away for murder in his early days managed to escape, and was on the loose again. Due to red tape around the investigation, several people died before she could be stopped. In a rage, Stephen quit the force to work as a private investigator and adventurer.
Personality: Stephen Ward is a no-nonsense man. He puts his work first, usually before his own health and safety. His job was to protect the innocent people of the city, and he was serious about his work. And if that meant roughing up some criminals, they deserved it, right?
