A rather large respec for Elias in light of UA materials as well as a shift in preferred direction of play after writing a bit in Hustle.
His CS is here. (I also have the below updates on Dicecloud for my sanity if you need the reference.)
I'd like to sell his greatsword (25gp) and purchase a shield, leaving him with 35gp. If I need to write this up separately, let me know. I'm happy to do so.
STR 16 (15+1)
DEX 10
CON 14
INT 10
WIS 8
CHA 16 (14+2)
AC 18
Hit Dice stay at 3d10
HPs still 28
I'd like to switch from being a tiefling of Levistus decent to being a tiefling of Zariel decent instead. This changes his stat bonuses to +1 str and +2 cha and gives him different spell-like abilities:
Legacy of Avernus
You know the Thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Searing Smite spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Branding Smite spell once with this trait and regain the ability to so do when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Fighter(3)
Skills: Athletics, Intimidation (replaces Perception)
1 - Fighting Style: Unarmed Fighting (UA Class Feature Variant)
Your unarmed strikes can deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier. If you strike with two free hands, the d6 becomes a d8. (Ya know I'm gonna flavor this to be a head butt, being a tiefling with horns.)
When you successfully start a grapple, you can deal 1d4 bludgeoning damage to the grappled creature. Until the grapple ends, you can also deal this damage to the creature whenever you hit it with a melee attack.
1 - Martial Versatility (UA Class Feature Variant)
Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace a fighting style you know with another style available to your class. This change represents a shift of focus in your martial training and practice, causing you to lose the benefits of one style and gain the benefits of another style.
1 - Second Wind (unchanged)
2 - Action Surge (unchanged)
3 - Martial Archetype: Battle Master (unchanged)
3 - Maneuvers (Silver Tongue, Restraining Strike, Trip Attack)
Restraining Strike: Immediately after you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack on your turn, you can expend one superiority die and use a bonus action to grapple the target (see chapter 9 in the Player’s Handbook for rules on grappling). Add the superiority die to your Strength (Athletics) check. The target is also restrained while grappled in this way. (UA Class Feature Variant, see below)
Silver Tongue: When you make a Charisma (Deception) check or a Charisma (Persuasion) check, you can expend one superiority die, and add the superiority die to the ability check. (UA Class Feature Variant, see below)
Trip Attack: When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to knock the target down. You add the superiority die to the attack's damage roll, and if the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you knock the target prone.
3 - Maneuver Versatility (UA Class Feature Variant)
If you know any maneuvers from the fighter's Battle Master archetype, you can replace one maneuver you know with a different maneuver whenever you finish a long rest. This change reflects your physical and mental preparation for the day ahead.
(Basically, like spells, I need to make sure I list what 3 maneuvers he knows before each adventure begins and after each long rest, but he can trade them out however he likes instead of having a set 3.)
3 - Maneuver Options (UA Class Feature Variant)
(These are in addition to the already existing Battle Master Maneuvers, giving him a wider selection to choose from. I don't think they need listed on his CS, however. If you've listed the other Battle Master Maneuvers, then you can paste these in. Otherwise, I keep track of them on Dicecloud.)
If you have access to maneuvers, the following maneuvers are added to the list of options available to you. Maneuvers are available to Battle Masters and to characters who have the Superior Technique fighting style or the Martial Adept feat:
Ambush.
Bait and Switch.
Brace.
Restraining Strike.
Silver Tongue.
Snipe.
Studious Eye.
