Biography
Lord Dalton Xephon Lyle
Level: 3 | Race: Human, Waterdhavian | Gender: Male
Alignment: Lawful Neutral | Deity: Oghma | Size: medium
Height: 5'10" | Weight: 174 | Age: 24
Appearance:
Of middling height, with slender aristocratic features, pale blue eyes, and the light skin of a young man who's rarely been troubled by the sun and the open road, Dalton looks as noble as he is. He's in shape but only just so, with a build sculpted more for appearance than function. Particularly so in Waterdeep, he holds himself with an air befitting his entitled station, and it doesn't take more than a brief study of his clothes, the tick of his chin, or the ring on his finger to discern that.
History:
First-born son to Viscount Altanys Lyle of House Lyle, Dalton was born to the privileged life of nobility and stands as his family's rightful heir to all of its lands and titles, most of which are located a ways east of Waterdeep. Bearing little interest in the pursuits of knighthood many young nobles find their glories in, Dalton instead spent years in magical colleges, eventually developing a preference for divination. Knowledge, foresight, and well-chosen alliances, he believes, are far sharper blades than any sword, and thicker armor than any breastplate as well.
Personality:
Depending on his mood, Dalton's typical range stretches from polite, gracious, and outwardly pleasant to emotionally cold and short-spoken... but still outwardly polite. Etiquette is important to him, and he shows favor towards commoners who properly acknowledge his station with a bow. He's not very expressive in the open public unless it's for a particular purpose or to seem "gracious" to commoners, which he finds much value in. Even the most powerful noble Lord, he believes, can do nothing without the footwork and faith of the common people behind him. Thus, even when he feels disdain for his "lessers," he rarely shows it. That said, he was raised to genuinely believe he is just made of better stock than any commonfolk could hope to achieve, and does so wholeheartedly. He also has an adventurous and daring streak, not at all above muddying his boots in the wild just to prove his mettle now and then - to himself as much as others.
