Appearance:
From head to toe, Astra is colored in various shades of metallic gold—the old, burnt ochre in her hair to the vibrant sun-radiance of her skin and eyes are hallmarks of the proud high elves. However, she has little of the gentle beauty and elegance typical of her kind; time and sorrow has done much to erode the glow of youth and leisure from her features. She moves with a jarring and relentless efficiency, sparing none of her sparse energy for frivolity or indecision. Her bones protrude harshly from under the travel-stained, ill-fitting robes she prefers to wear, giving the elven woman an air of ghostly severity accentuated by her raven familiar, which is always nearby like a trailing spectre. Two wicked-looking wounds further accentuate Astra’s grim, near-feral appearance: a jagged gash over her right cheek and another following the same diagonal line, trailing from her lower lip to the chin.
HISTORY
Astra is something of an anomaly in elven society. You wouldn’t believe it then, but she was a rising star in high Silverymoon society so long ago, though memories rarely fade among the long-lived elves. The only daughter of a high-ranking and esteemed Knight in Silver, Astra was afforded the best education and upbringing her father’s rank could supply. She excelled in magic and combat at an early age, and her entry into the Moon Garrison was remarked upon to be but her first step towards greatness. For a time, her ascension was all but assured.
Then the orcs attacked. Chaos reigned in Silverymoon as the city walls crumpled against the Black Horde’s ferocious assault, dust and debris flying everywhere and crushing those who were unlucky enough to live close to the entry point. Screams rang through the outer city, civilians caught in the crossfire as the Silverwatch—at least, those who had defied the usurper Shaloss Ethenfrost—and the surviving Garrison soldiers surged towards the invaders in a desperate bid to delay their onslaught. That furious, earth-shattering clash when both forces met was the last time Astra saw her husband alive.
After two brief centuries to rebuild and recover, yet another conflict arose. The War of the Silver Marches razed through their lands, and she was one of the few who answered Sundabar’s call for aid. It was a disaster. They were outnumbered and outmatched in every way—her regiment was picked apart as they retreated, and she only made it out by the skin of her teeth. To others, this may have seemed fortuitous, and a sure sign of a god’s favor. Not for her. Astra lost her second spouse that day.
Her strangest trial, however, occurred away from her beloved Silverymoon. Afflicted with a bone-deep weariness and a sorrow that tinged her breath cold, Astra attempted to follow her father into the legendary isle of Evermeet. She had hoped that the greatest of the elves knew how to heal her condition or, at the very least, ease her mind.
Such was her desperation.
Now, a million leagues from her grasp, the night sky glowed red and orange as the ship shattered in a gunpowder explosion. The mermaid on the bow, her tail shredded to splinters, dove into the wretched waves when the fire snapped her last tether. Her sudden descent cut the gurgling of a drowning sailor, and all was silent save for the roaring blaze and the jeers of the circling pirates.
As her broken body drifted down, down, into the dark frigid depths, Astra dreamed.
She woke up on an ice floe close to Icewind Dale, the waves rough against her frost-tinged feet, and found in her hand an otherworldly memento.
Then, the voice bellowed inside her head, the psychic message nearly melting her nerves in white-hot agony. Its voice was beautiful and terrible and deadly all at once.

PERSONALITY
In another reality, Astra would've been at home at the upper echelons of society, where grace and finesse was the currency traded among inner circles. Now, she is a recluse, prone to brooding and long bouts of silence. Highly independent, guarded, and suspicious of most other people, Astra often wears a neutral expression, though it is common to see her lips pulled into a tight grimace or an ill-tempered scowl. Although she always seems one hit away from unconsciousness, there is a glimmer of vicious determination deep in her eyes.
She often wields dry wit and scathing criticism against those who try her patience—and those type of folk are many, indeed.
Astra prides herself on her rational and detached approach to situations. She prefers to solve her problems with efficiency and precision, and her pragmatic point of view means that she can work with strangers on the opposite end of a moral/ideological spectrum with little to no qualms. Her high standards and personal code of conduct also mean that, should those strangers leave her be and allow her to do what she does best without inane distractions, Astra can fulfill a task to her utmost capability. Very rarely though, her true emotions may be stirred. Pray it does not.
It has been many years since the Entity had seared its language into her mind; until now, Its motives remain a mystery. She assumes she will remain connected to Its foul mind, Evermeet or no, until she has fulfilled Its decree. Until then, Astra will not fall.

- Old Ring: A ring Astra wears at all times. It is, in fact, two rings melded together with artistic care. The lower circle is a simple band of gold, whilst the upper is made of two twining strips of silver. Both are made in the antiquated elven style.
- Strange Icon: An icon made of what seems to be gold, although patches and flakes in places all over it reveal an odd blackish-green metal underneath. The base of the statue is a roughly-hewn circle with faint, undecipherable hieroglyphics bracing the circumference. The icon itself is a figure of a sea creature with many tentacles, at the center of which is a black pearl. Looking at it for too long hurts your head and fills you with a rush of breathlessness. You feel like drowning.
