Ari and I thought to ourselves: what would happen if Kara and Gigi faced off against a monster that was, like, definitely too challenging for them, but not *too* too challenging? Could they become friends (ish)? Also, how could I add a little more Monty Python to my adventures?
And thus Brave Sir Robin was born! With a *lot* of luck (mostly in neither getting stunned initially and some very good attack rolls for Kara) and some decent strategy, they more or less just barely beat the thing.
The monster was a Vrock, CR 6, worth 2,300 exp. Assuming you feel it's appropriate, Kai, that should be 1,150 each. I've included that in the rewards below, subject to your judgment. I was the DM for the adventure, obviously, but would prefer to forego the DM coupon in favor of extra exp.
- Exp: 1260 exp (word count) + 1150 exp (challenge) = 2410 exp, exp goes from 24,700 to 27,110
- Gold: 1260 gold (word count), gold goes from 1,635 to 2,895
Gigi: Word count 7,212 - Exp: 1450 exp (word count) + 1150 exp (challenge) = 2600 exp, exp goes from 2,830 to 5,430
- Gold: 1450 gold (word count), gold goes from 540 gold to 1990

Unfortunately this was misplayed a little. You don't just take 1d10 poison damage from the Vrock's poison; you gain the Poisoned condition, which inflicts disadvantage. Reckless attack meant you could have been attacking straight, but not with advantage - which in turn gave two crits and a whole lot of extra hits that shouldn't have happened. Whilst the demon had more HP than normal due to the error in how resistances worked, that makes it really difficult to justify giving out a full CR6 award here.
There's also some question in my mind about whether the vrock should have made a more concerted effort to get past Kara and focus down the healer once it became clear what Gigi was doing. Kara could probably have kept it back anyway with her Sentinel feat, but... with the poisoned condition in play? Maybe not, and at that point things would have gone very differently.
Overall, I'm going to award this one as a CR4 encounter instead. I don't feel like I can justify the full 2300 award. If this changes the balance on whether you want the coupon or XP let me know.
