I'd like to turn in the completed Adventure thread, Saving Fluffers. The two participants (including my character, Solstice) answered a posted notice offering payment for the retrieval of a missing cat. This involved them delving through a cave-in in the employer's basement, plenty of tracking and perception challenges, and fighting nearly every monster between them and Fluffers. This is also my first attempt at DMing anything ever, so I probably made some mistakes somewhere.
Challenges:
Tracking
Nature
Investigation
Intelligence
Medicine
Arcana
Perception
Persuasion
Not checks, per se, but I in addition to the driftglobe and goggles of night, also rolled for random coin on each of the three bodies, using the DMG table for CR 0-4 encounters. (3 PP, 23 SP) It can be split evenly or Kara can have the majority, if that's less complicated.
In total, they had four monster encounters, three of which ended in a fight. There was another possible one with Piercers, but that ended up not happening due to the Giant Spiders entering the main cavern first and the Piercers targeting them. All stats were as standard. Two of the fights -the Purple Wormlings and Carrion Crawlers were potentially deadly according to the encounter builder. With that in mind, I thought the magical treasures (Goggles of Night for Kara and Driftglobe for Solstice) were appropriate.
Giant Spider CR 1 (3)
Purple Wormling CR 2 (2)
Carrion Crawler CR 2 (2)
Trapper CR 3 (1) (VGTM, p.194) (Large monstrosity, unaligned, AC: 13, HP: 85, Speed/Climb 10 ft., Str 17, Dex 10, Con 17, Int 2, Wis 13, Cha 4,
Skills: Stealth +2
Senses: Blindsight 30 ft., Darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 11
Challenge 3 (700 xp)
False Appearance. While the trapper is attached to a ceiling, floor, or wall and remains motionless, it is almost indistinguishable from an ordinary section of the ceiling, floor, or wall. A creature that can see it and succeeds on a DC 20 Intelligence (Investigation) or Intelligence (Nature) check can discern its presence.
Spider Climb. The trapper can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Smother. One Large or smaller creature within 5 feet of the trapper must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or be grappled (escape DC 14). Until the grapple ends, the target takes 17 (4d6+3) bludgeoning damage plus 3 (1d6) acid damage at the start of each of its turns. While grappled this way, the target is restrained, blinded and at risk of suffocating. The trapper can smother only one creature at time.

Nature
- DC 10 to determine that the main tunnel was created by a burrowing creature

Persuasion
- DC 18 to avoid a fight with the Giant Spiders, convincing them to seek food in another tunnel (made with advantage due to Solstice's firbolg trait)
