Welcome brave adventurer, to Waterdeep!
Waterdeep is an online play-by-post forum centred around the city of Waterdeep and its local environs. Waterdeep is a bustling metropolis full of magic, wonder and danger, where the brave and bold may go to earn their fortune - or to lose it.
This forum is unlike many other play by post venues in that we are not attempting to provide a place for DMs to host their own campaigns, but to create one enormous world where people can come to play their characters, run adventures, and enjoy a collaborative, persistant storytelling experience.
Unlike playing D&D around a table, play by post games tend to move much more slowly. We also put an emphasis on descriptive text, as a lot of the joy of the game comes from reading about the trials and tribulations of the heroes taking part. Waterdeep is therefore likely to be a very different experience to other D&D games you may have played with your friends or online.
