Biography
Character Name: Llyr Hadad
Character Level: 3
Race: Water Genasi
Gender: Male
Alignment: Neutral
Deity: n/a
Size: Medium
Hair: Flowy green
Eyes: Dark blue-black
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 160 lbs
Age: 30
Appearance: Rather short, greenish blue skin with medium length kelp-green hair that never sits the same way twice. Llyr prefers to wear a plain robe over simple clothes, which hides a strong build. Were it not for the trident he carries, he would be a rather unassuming figure, probably resembling just another traveler or perhaps a monk or cleric.
History: Llyr was born to a couple of humans. They had been shipmates and lovers, but never planned to get a family going. Despite their child being a genasi they tried to make it in a port town, but after the first few years of Llyr’s life his parents decided they needed to be back out at sea. They saved what they could and went in on a ship with a partner, forming a small company. Llyr was raised at sea, and as he grew up he realized his parents were not merchant sailors, but pirates. Into his teens he embraced this, but watching what the lifestyle was doing to the people around him made him begin to shy away from it. After a time he realized he was being taken advantage of for his abilities and not treated fairly. His parents were slaves to the drink and the smoke, and he decided to slip away when they docked one night near Baldur’s Gate. Llyr took on the surname Hadad, after some obscure sea-spirit he’d heard about, not wanting to carry his parents’ name into his new life. Working as a deckhand for various ships, some legit, some not, kept him fed and housed for several years. Llyr came to Waterdeep a year or two ago, despite wanting to avoid his parents, the water genasi can’t bear to be away from the sea.
Personality: Llyr is, on the surface, calm, almost eerily. He doesn’t quite speak in monotone, but to most people he would seem aloof, or even distracted, as if his mind if elsewhere. Those that come to know him discover that once engaged or excited Llyr can be intense and even overbearing at times, and in a fight, it’s like someone hits a switch and he goes berserk. Llyr’s a little weird, and he’s had a hard time forming and maintaining long term relationships. Like the tides, he pushes and pulls people away. He’s not yet met another of his kind, and he’s successfully avoided people from his past.
