Biography
GM Note: This is, admittedly, still a work-in-progress, mainly the History section. I wanted to run something by you regarding a home-rule option. It's under the Feats section. It's totally fine one way or the other, but the answer will (slightly) shape his character, so I wanted to hear back before finalizing everything.
Character Name:
Tixanhi "Tix" Trismegistus; the "x" is soft, so his first name is pronounced "tee-hahn-ee," though most still accidentally pronounce the hard "x" sound.
Character Level: 3
Race:
Human (Variant)
Gender:
Male (Cis)
Alignment:
Neutral Good (NG)
Deity:
Ao the Hidden, ostensibly. Tixanhi understands that it is a bit of a paradox claiming faith in a deity who has, per the records, voiced apathy or outright displeasure in mortals worshiping it. Tixanhi's faith is one built more upon philosophical intrigue and arcane fascination rather than spiritual adoration; he sees Ao as the First Cause, the Crown from which all creation (at least in the Forgotten Realms) flowed from. As a wizard, that power is something worth investigating, even from a respectful distance.
Size:
Medium
Hair:
Long, straight, deep brunette; he typically wears it down over his shoulders.
Eyes:
Steel blue
Height:
6' even.
Weight:
180 lbs.
Age:
24
Appearance:
Tixanhi is a young, cheerful male who is often seen in the long, layered robes of his cloister. The robes themselves are relatively plain, being a gloomy shade of black with charcoal grey trimmings. He is of average height and weight for a human male, though his hair is considerably longer than average, often seen hanging over his shoulders and offsetting the color of his robes. He is accompanied by a gnarled wooden staff and always has his spellbook and arcane focus on hand, the former being a highly disorganized satchel filled with scrolls and parchments scribbled with the essence of his spells and the latter appearing like a metal coin of indeterminant composition that shows one of multiple, different faces when one looks upon it. Given his penchant for staying in his robes, he presents as noticeably more...humble than some of his other, more sophisticated wizard colleagues. Despite that, Tixanhi has a natural charisma to him, often supported by his casual, care-free demeanor (assuming you're into that sort of thing).
History:
(I'm going to give some bullet points since I'm still trying to flesh out the character in my head)
Personality:
As stated above, Tixanhi is often a mix of care-free, casual, and curious. He is idealistic enough to fight for the cause of those who he feels are oppressed, though he does not often seek out those causes. Instead, he focuses on making relationships with others and experiencing new things, as he finds beauty in those experiences and lessons in those that are less than pleasant. He is often patient and diplomatic when needed, but his curiosity and desire for relationships can push him into unintentionally prying into others' affairs. He might do it intentionally, too, but he'd never admit it. Unlike many of the cloistered scholars and arcanists he grew up around, Tixanhi is not shy about his sense of humor, viewing it as a way to entertain and liven up the world.

History:
(I'm going to give some bullet points since I'm still trying to flesh out the character in my head)
- Was abandoned as an infant at the steps of his cloister. He was raised in the rather dour, sprawling library with its numerous monks, scriveners, scholars, and arcanists.
- As an adolescent, he was taken under the wing of a mentor. His mentor not only allowed him to exercise a more full emotional range and curiosity about the world beyond the covers of books, but his mentor also taught him the fundamentals of arcane magic. The mentor passed, tragically and long before his time--(why?)
- Tixanhi left the cloister shortly after his mentor passed, taking his knowledge of the world and the magic surrounding it and set out for the life of an adventurer.
Personality:
As stated above, Tixanhi is often a mix of care-free, casual, and curious. He is idealistic enough to fight for the cause of those who he feels are oppressed, though he does not often seek out those causes. Unlike many of the cloistered scholars and arcanists he grew up around, Tixanhi is not shy about his sense of humor, viewing it as a way to entertain and liven up the world.
- Personality: I'm willing to listen to every side of an argument before I make my own judgment.
- Ideal: Wonderment--The world is full of inspiring sites and moments of incredible beauty. I seek out those moments.
- Bond: I owe everything to my mentor--a wonderful person who was taken too soon.
- Flaw: I am overly concerned by the private affairs of others.
