Baranyth Amulet (Requires attunement by a Sorcerer) One of the stones of the Sea Sorceress Morwenna. A small blue gemstone that has a faint glimmer and seems to contain the ocean within, swirling and changing ever so slowly. It's soothing to see. When a Sorcerer attuned to this stone is struck, he or she can use it's reaction to retaliate against the attacker, dealing lightning damage equal to the current sorcery points of the Sorcerer. Once this ability has been used it may not be used again until the owner has completed a short rest

I'll need a link to the stats of the monster.
That amulet is also very, very powerful for a low level character. Stick the line 'Once this ability has been used it may not be used again until the owner has completed a short rest' at the end and it becomes a lot more reasonable.

Hey guys,
I'm going to lay out a few issues here which I have to factor in to my reward allocation.
1) The Guardian takes two rounds where it does nothing, after all social skills have failed and Thea continues to keep attacking them. The first they just straight up does nothing for no reason as far as I can see, and the second they use Bestow Curse in a nonstandard way (not in line with the effects of Bestow Curse) and in such a way that the GM knew it would be ineffective. If the PC continues to attack when the monster is taking no offensive action, this should at the very least preclude any further attempts to parlay or stand down. To be honest, having two full rounds where the monster is deliberately played in such a way as to avoid any threat to the PC(s) would itself preclude full awards for defeating it outside of some exceptional circumstance which ... I can't even think of right now.
2) The Guardian then calls for a truce when they have twice as many HP as Thea (10 vs 5) and would definitely finish her in one more successful hit.
3) The Guardian is intimidated at a rather low DC considering the aggression shown and the fact that they have the upper hand. And they back down completely by GM Fiat when it is declared that Thea actually is the rightful owner of the stone.
For something to count as fair for full adventure rewards it needs to have been possible for the player character to have failed. Whether this is intentional or not, it feels like the deck was stacked very heavily in Thea's favour here. As soon as she was in serious risk of being rendered unconscious or killed the punches were pulled significantly. For a full 1/3 of the actions that the Guardian took there was no chance of anything actually happening to Thea at all!
Adventures are, of course, always the hardest and most subjective part of the game to deal with, so don't necessarily feel bad. I'm also not saying that this was a bad thread; it was quite fun to read! It just isn't worth 1,100 xp on top of everything else.
So I'm going to award Thea the magic item, as that makes sense for story purposes, and you'll both get standard awards otherwise.
