Expecting to meet a solid person, Solstice's eyes widened as she heard the woman's voice seemingly coming from all around them. There was a sharp intake of breath at that, and her eyes instantly contained a thousand questions because even for the firbolg raised in exotic lands, this was not a typical state of affairs. She noted the brief annoyance, but said nothing about it, instead focusing on the introduction itself. Not knowing which direction she faced, the paladin nonetheless bowed and quietly cleared her throat.
"Thank you, my Lady. I'm honored by your presence, and your generosity. If there is anything more that I can do on behalf of the Forest Queen in this great city, I will gladly serve. You have but to ask." Her usually merry tone was absent for this moment, entirely serious about her intent and wanting to show due reverence to one so honored by the goddess. Questions still abounded, but she tempered her curiosity; first meetings were probably not the place for them, anyway.

"Great City ... interesting. Perhaps, once, but now...?"
The disembodied voice sounded almost wistful, and the breeze moved through the grass again, rustling around Solstice's feet. The display of reverence went unremarked upon, but Melannor at least seemed appreciative of it, giving her a light nod of his head to indicate that she ought not to feel duty bound to remain so positioned now that the display had been made.
"There are forces at work in this City which would see everything burn. They traffic with being from distant stars and planes, thinking they can sell the ashes of our world for power elsewhere. We will have need of you, Green Knight. For now, take this token of our favour, and keep your eyes and ears open. There are shadows in this place so deep even an owl cannot see the secrets hidden in them."
Cryptic, perhaps, but less cryptic was the bright cluster of silver-white berries on a sprig of holly which materialised before Solstice, hovering in the air; a sign of her acceptance into the Emerald Enclave, and perhaps a little more besides...

That wistful tone made Solstice want to ask what the Lady knew about Waterdeep's history. She knew very little beyond the most recent past, and some instinct told her that the disembodied being could give an interesting perspective that dry history books couldn't match. It was an issue for another time, though, and she straightened back to her full height. The current to topic demanded her full attention, and she wasn't about to be accused of a lack of manners.
Listening to the voice, Solstice nodded gravely at mention of other threats. After encountering a living ball of fire, she has a suspicion that it was the very least of said threats, and stronger ones are to come to her attention. She could deal with cryptic for now, especially given the offered token with she took respectfully. "Thank you, my lady. I'll do as you request, and hope to shed a light where it is needed."
