Ace dove from above in a flurry of feathers, wings, and talons. The hawk dove straight towards the goblin but quickly let up before colliding with it. The move served mostly as a distraction to the goblin to give Aronin a hand with his next attack. Like clockwork, Aronin pulled back the shortsword and then speared it forwards to stab the goblin's chest. He quickly followed up with a second vertical slash of the scimitar.

The hapless goblin swiped his hands pathetically as the hawk's talons threatened his face and was completely caught unawares as Aronin finished him off with two swift slashes of his weapon.
Stillness returns to the thicket. You hear only the trickling of the stream and from within the cave the sound of rapids rolling over rocks. Thankfully the sound of rushing water was enough to dim the sounds of combat.

Avren paused to catch her breath, wincing as she briefly inspects her wound. She nodded to the others in thanks, her irritation and embarrassment saved only for herself. Nevermind that she was used to stealthing in cityscapes and not the wilderness, that was just an excuse she wasn't willing to accept. The goblins certainly wouldn't make allowances, after all. The scaled woman straightened, and inspected the bodies, to see if there as anything worth taking from them.

The goblins each have scimitars and shortbows, leather armour and wooden shields.

Lykus hops over the stream and looks toward the cave.
This stream will run red with goblin blood!
He draws his greatsword and looks over his shoulder at the others to see if they're ready

Leather armor and wooden shields held no interest from Avren, who doubted they would sell for much. The weapons...well, those might be a better bet, but there was still a cave system to explore. She got to her feet, deciding to hold off until they were sure the goblin threat had been eliminated. Besides, if they were lucky, there might be something more valuable to claim. She nodded to Lykus after she prestidigitated away blood stains and magically mended her torn sleeve, expression set. It was time to move on.

Just inside the cave mouth, a few uneven stone steps lead up to a small, dank chamber on the east side of the passage. The cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end, and is filled with the stench of animals. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where five wolves are chained up just inside the opening. Each wolf’s chain leads to an iron rod driven into the base of a stalagmite. You can see that their chains prevent you from reaching you as long as you don't go to the top of the steps.

Aronin wiped the blood off of his blades, and quietly sheathed them. He glanced over to Avren and her wound, and gave her an apologetic look. He turned to catch Lykus drawing his sword and readying himself to slay an army of goblins. "Well I guess its time to stumble around a goblin hideout..." He made his way to the cave entrance with the others. The sound of rattling chains echoed off the chamber walls, and soon Aronin was confronted with five chained wolves. The red haired man immediately halted and held his breathe.
Please don't howl, please don't howl.... Ah fuck it!
The red haired man dashed across as quietly and stealthily as he could.

Aronin's attempt at stealth is a little clumsy, but the wolves are not surprised by his appearance. Their keen noses detecting the party before their eyes do.
The wolves are growling and fighting loudly, but either the other inhabitants of the cave can't hear them or they ignore it - long used to the wolves fighting amongst themselves.

Avren assessed the wolves with a thoughtful frown, thankful for the fact that they were currently chained up and thus not able to attack the group. They could still make enough noise to draw attention, though, and that made her think that the more distracted they were, the better. Reaching into her backpack, she withdrew a portion of her rations and tossed it in their direction, hoping that they hadn't had a meal just before. Then she dashed across with Aronin, as quietly as she could manage, trying to overtake him a bit so she could have a good look around and assess any tracks. Anything that was bigger than the usual goblin footprints was of special interest.

The wolves hugrily eat the offered food, and an all out brawl break out among them as they fight over the scraps. As you pass the wolves kennel the natural light from outside begins to fade and Lykus and Aronin find they cannot see where they are going. [You will need a light source from this point onwards] Avren, the main passage from the cave mouth climbs steeply upward, the stream plunging and splashing down its west side. In the shadows, a side passage leads west across the other side of the stream. You notice the drag marks from before lead into the stream opposite the side passage. There are many goblin tracks as well as wolf and you also notice a few larger footprints, which are roughly human in size but monstrous like a goblin's. These larger prints head up the path northwards. In the shadows of the ceiling to the north, you can just make out the dim shape of a rickety bridge of wood and rope crossing over the passage ahead of you. Another passage intersects this one, twenty feet above the floor. [Avren, make a perception check, Aronin, if you light a torch, you can make a perception check too.] ?? HJq5JtaN1d20+41d20+4

Avren tried to peer around, but she winced and rubbed at her eye as something irritated it. She stopped herself from making any noise and alerting someone else, but couldn't focus enough to discern further details. However, she had seen the drag marks and where they lead just a moment ago, so she silently gestured for the others to head in that direction with her.

Lykus lights a torch and steps into the stream when the passage is suddenly filled with a mighty roar, as a huge surge of rushing water pours down from above!
