As the torrent of water fills the cavern, everyone is caught by surprise and hit by the wave. Lykus and Avren manage grab jutting rocks on the walls and keep their feet against the surge. Meanwhile Aronin is swept away back towards the entrance of the cave.
By the time the energy of the water is expended, Aronin, you find yourself laying in the stream back by the goblin's sentry post outside.
You take aqbEM_B41d6 points of bludgeoning damage from the battering.1d6

"Aronin!" Avren wanted to reach for him, but she knew that if she let go, she would be swept away as well and that wouldn't do them any good whatsoever. So she clutched the rocks at hand and waited for the surge to die down. Only then would she dare to move once more, though first sparing a glance to see what other attention they might have attracted.

The surge of water passes and Avren and Lykus look around, water dripping from their eyes. Lykus' torch is now extinguished but even with her darkvision, Avren doesn't see the goblin sneak back onto the bridge until she hears it scream "AGAIN!"

Aronin flails around sloppily in the stream outside of the cave. He spat up water, and coughed before he was able to sit up. "I didn't think I needed a bath that bad..." Pain burned at his side and he felt at it with a free hand. He could have possible broken a rib or two, nonetheless he'll have some nice bruises to show for it. He staggered to get up on to his feet, still feeling a bit dizzy from his rapids water ride.
He needed to get back to the others, and so he moved with decisiveness towards the cave entrance. Though when he arrived, he could hear the echoes of another wave of rushing water. "Shit, they can do it again!?" Aronin stood at the entrance and watched carefully, taking his time to investigate the save walls and ceiling for any foot holds or protruding rocks. He waited until he could see the rush of water spiraling towards the entrance, and took note of the depth of water. As the surge of water got closer, he jumped to the left of the cave entrance and clung to the rocky wall. Hopefully his comrades were able to hold on tight again.

Again, the water rushes down. This time, however, everyone is able to either hold on or jump out of the way.
Once the stream return to it's natural flow, looking up, the goblin has disappeared back into one of the side passages.
Aronin, you notice that the small trickle of water editing the cave is now a steady flow. The steam seems to be flowing without impediment now, following the floods.
Avren, you jump into the western passage to dodge the water and see that it is choked with rubble and has steep escarpments. The terrain is loose and difficult to move through. The passage is about thirty feet long, with the far end being about twenty feet above you. There is a ten foot plateau between the two escarpments leading up the passage at the far end.
Lykus lights another torch and quickly follows you before any more unexpected floods.
[I'll update the map when I get home but in the meantime, you can make a nature check]

Better prepared this time, Avren was quick to dodge and shook her head as she watched the water surge past. That was evidently not the way to go, and besides, the dragging led in a different direction. Trusting in Aronin to find them again after the flooding stops, Avren continued to investigate the western passage. Her golden eyes narrow as she sizes up the area, not bothering to dry herself with magic yet in case that was not the last of the floods. Instead, she detached the grappling hook and rope from her backpack, looking for a good spot to secure it so that they can ascend and continue on their way. 1d20+3·1d20+7

Aronin took a moment to scan the surge of water that rushed passed him. He observed intensely for any signs of his fellow comrades floating down the river. When he couldn't spot anyone, he sighed with relief. The river now flowed steadily rather than trickling down the cave. The man perked up at this, and quickly maneuvered himself back on to the cave path besides the river. This might mean that it would be some time before another surge of water was thrown his direction. He would have to be quick on his feet in order to reach the others before the next surge.
A familiar voice called out to him, "What about me?" Aronin had almost forgotten about his familiar. "Come on in, its nice and moist in here!" The hawk screeched with annoyance, and then swooped into the cave. He dashed across the brawling wolves, and reached the point where the waters had swept him. The others didn't seem to be in sight, mostly because it was extremely dark. He reached into his pack for a torch, then carefully lit it. He observed his surroundings the best he could.

Avren may be a city-girl but she knows a crumbling wall from a sturdy one. You recognise that the plateau between the two escarpments is precarious at best. Anyone much heavier than a goblin would risk further collapsing the ledge and falling back down to the bottom of the passage.

Aronin, you can see the other two across the stream inspecting the partially collapsed, steeply ascending passage with some concern. The cause for the floods is unclear to you at this time.

Assessing the situation for a solid minute, Avren frowned and shook her head as she looked back to Lykus. "That isn't going to hold any of us, not unless we were goblin-sized. We have to find another way around, before we get flooded again." Placing grappling hook and rope back in their place, she took out her shortbow instead. There were no more magic missiles available to her; if she was to strike the source of their flooding problem, it would have to be through weapons.
Heading back the way they had come, Avren glanced around and there was a flash of relief in her eyes at seeing Aronin. Good, the surge hadn't incapacitated him. She gestured for him to stay where he was, and glanced around carefully before daring to cross the water.

Lykus grunts in frustration but then follows Avren back to the main passage. Looking around, you don't see anyone other than Aronin, you can still hear the wolves yapping and snarling and the rushing of water in the stream before you. You jump over it with no problem and are now standing on the narrow path with Aronin beside the water in the main passage. The bridge hangs just north of you about 20 feet off the ground.
