Miri felt both short swords dig in, two strikes that both found flesh, and then she was moving, back and way.
The human followed her, swinging his mace once, then again. Miri dodged nimbly out of the way, winking at him as she did, and took her turn, taking two more quick strikes at her opponent.
Once again, she backed up after she was done, leading him partly up the stairs now, back away from the flames and towards the upper deck.

Continuing their dance of pursuit, hit, and dart away the human steadfastly kept at Miri's heels despite the damage taken. He'd be killed if he abandoned the crew or ship - and there was no way Harrigan would loose.

Miri dodged the two strikes yet again, the mace whiffling through the air, and lunged in again. The human was bleeding – badly, in truth, from the three cuts she’d given him so far. With a little luck, Miri thought coolly, he wouldn’t last much longer. She didn’t bother to tease or taunt; it wasn’t that she was losing her breath (although, honestly, she hadn’t had much of a chance to train these last few weeks, and it turned out cooking wasn’t the best cardiovascular exercise), but rather that she doubted it would make a difference to him.

The human went down, slow and thudding as he was in life.
Miri posed there, breathing with exileration at how successful she'd been so far. The feather danced in her hair at each successful jab and fluttered with each dodge. Around her more of the ship burned. Dead bodies, mostly Boar's Throat crewmen by the looks of it.
A sudden crack and splinter sound halted combat across the ship.
The deck was starting to split.
Only Harrigan and Sandara seemed to pay the burning ship no mind, both bleeding but looking no where near finished in their pursuit of finishing off each other.
What direction would Miri like to go next? You can begin making your way to the other ship as combat wraps up Look to engage in other hostiles - Scrouge is seen walking through the crumbling ship deck to make his way up behind Kroop, who has no idea what's going on behind him. Grok is separated from Kroop and cannot be seen Stay where you are

Miri laughed aloud, grinning, blood dripping from her two blades. She felt a little sorry for the man at her feet, but - only a little, and the feeling faded as quickly as it had come.
Miri glanced over the ship with a practiced eye. The smart thing to do - the only thing to do - was to get the hell off this burning piece of shit and on to the pirate vessel. The other pirate vessel.
But - Kroop. Miri gritted her teeth, watching Scourge creep up behind him. The old drunk bastard had made his stand. What did Miri owe him, really? He’d made his own choices. She had never asked him for anything.
Damn it all.
With a quick prayer - more of a desperate gasp - to Selune for luck, Miri took off across the deck, running full speed towards Kroop. She lunges through the fire burning on the center of the deck, sprinting all out at Scourge, and burst out of the flames to strike at him, chanting the words of her spell yet again.
Miri goes for Scourge! She uses dash to cover 60 feet and reaches melee range (barely).

His whip was uncoiled at his side, swinging like a python or a cobra around his feet. Clenched in his offhand was a punching dagger, the hilt bloodied and the blade wet. Someone had died to his hand already it seemed.
Miri appearing out of the fire wasn't something he expected to experience. She exploded out of the flames, sword bared, and booming spell waves - her yell drawing his eye.
She was too slow though.
He swiftly turned and snapped his whip, lassoing someone with a fire feather held around their neck like a pendant and pulled them into the line of fire. Miri's blade sunk into the red dressed pirate, the spellfire spreading over the new victim to send him into shocking fits. Scourge's living shield tensed and yelled, but not loud enough to mask the laughter from the Master at Arms. His boot kicked at his foe's back, releasing him from the whip's grip - sending him into movement and forcing the spell to shock him again. Now there was another enemy of his that he could manipulate around in his favor.
"Wanna try that again gurlie?" He laughed at Miri and snapped his whip towards his new target, Kroop forgotten. He stepped backwards to put space between himself and her, just as Miri had done towards Cogward and the others, and sent the whip cracking at her. Before the whip could finish its decent he'd stepped up and moved right into Miri's space - his punching dagger slamming into her gut.

It was a beautiful attack; like something out of a storybook. Miri had leapt out of the flames, gleaming in the firelight, swords bloodied but still shining, and slashed at Scourge, expecting him find him utterly unprepared –
And, instead, Scourge had yanked someone else into the way of the blade, kicked him off and out of the way, and came at her, brutally hard.
The whip hit first; the first lash she’d taken on board, Miri thought, with a mental sigh. At least it wasn’t on her back, although that didn’t stop it from being shockingly painful. She tried to twist and avoid the strike, but failed – and, just as badly, failed to keep Scourge from sinking his dagger into her.
Miri stumbled back, gasping for breath. She was, she realized abruptly, thoroughly outmatched. Well. She thought back on her choices, and resolved to make some additional prayers to Selune when she reached a temple again because by now it was pretty clear the goddess was displeased with her.
“Oh, you can count on it,” Miri grinned through blood-stained teeth – she’d bitten through her cheek when the whip had hit – and lunged in for another attempt at booming blade against Scourge. If it hit, at least it’d be unpleasant for him to follow her.
Either way, Miri would lunge backwards the moment the attack was completed, bleeding heavily, and do her best to put a considerable amount of space between them, such that Scourge would at least have to pass Kroop to continue attacking her. She didn’t let go of either shortsword, but pressed one hand to the badly bleeding spot where Scourge had stabbed her, and focused on breathing.
At least she was still breathing. For now.

Strategically disengaging away from Scoruge Miri bolted - it was a smart woman who knew when to run to live another day. The whip cracked above her head - the Master of Arms reaching out to snap one final hit towards her...
dKZ17oU_1d20+5
... But no matter how good or bad his snap at her retreating heels was? Miri knew how to dodge and weave away from trouble, it was second nature, instinctual. The rogue simply blew him a kiss as he was stuck there, the booming blade energy keeping him square where he stood. At the end of the day? Scourge was a coward who didn't put himself in harm's way if he could help it. And a pirate of his status? He was familiar with the spell.
The question was, how had she learned that in the two weeks he'd slavedrived the crew? A thought he'd muse over later... If he got off this boat.
Up on the deck where the ship's wheel stood a battle of a very different sort was continuing. Sandara and Harrigan danced around each other, jabs and witty retorts by the healer met with snarls and grunts from the beastial man.
Kroop ran up behind Miri, out of breath and sweating from more than just the fire. "Oohh---- ahhhh---- my goodness...." He was breathless. "Thanks for the assist there, mate. Shall we get going then?" Grok then appeared carrying a large trunk over each shoulder. It seemed someone had done some packing with the heads up they'd had waiting for their allied ship to appear.
It was that ship that bobbed Port side of the Throat, from here Miri could finally see the name. 'ßlððÐ RêÐ Rð§ê' written with a flourish in arcane script that glinted like the feathers in the firelight. Crew of the Rose were sending ropes over to those now starting to line up at the fence and board over. The Bear's Throat gave another groan and crack as more of the deck broke, the debris on fire falling into the lower levels to set more of the ship aflame.

Miri kept one hand firmly pressed against the dagger wound in her stomach; it hurt, badly, and blood was still soaking into her clothing. The marks from the lash hurt too; Scourge had cut her open in several places. The adrenaline from the fights was fading, fast. Miri would be, she thought, only too happy to bid farewell to the Bear’s Throat.
Scourge had been left behind; Miri would, she thought optimistically, try her luck against him another time. Or, if she was honest, happily never cross paths with him again. Sandara seemed to be doing well against Captain Harrigan; Miri was sure she had it covered.
“No problem,” Miri spat some blood onto the deck, mouth still coppery-tasting. She glanced at the ship behind her, and nodded in response to Kroop’s question. “Nothing I’d like more,” she grinned again, then grimaced. Slowly, Miri pulled her bloodied hand from her front, renewing her grip on her short swords. No sense in getting caught off guard here, with just a few steps left to go to the Rose – or, at least, to the ropes coming from it.
((Miri would like to board the Blood Red Rose! And maybe get some bandages.))

The crew sent over knotted ropes towards her and Kroop, giving a way to swing back over. "Need some help with that?" A dark voice stepped out of Kroop's shadow, the dark haired, blue eyed woman Miri had seen before? She gestured towards the trunks Grok carried. "Aye can ferry 'em over while ye swing across." Up close her skin seemed a lot less dark than Miri might have first assumed. She wore a jacket wide open, red tinged purple, with a short black bodice and pirate affects at her belt.Grok nodded, not liking the odds of swinging across with two chests on her shoulders. The woman grinned and grabbed one handle of each, skin turning dark then dissapearing to step through a shadow on the Rose. Grok turned briskly to see where the woman had went before being settled by Kroop, who handed her a rope. The two then hoisted themselves up onto the ropes (Kroop a bit more out of breath then Grok) and swung over. Acrobatics with advantage as a knotted rope is sent your way!

Miri raised an eyebrow in cheerful appreciation of the woman. She hadn’t gotten a good look at her earlier, but now – despite the blood loss – she felt a sudden lift in her spirits at the thought of her new ship, and her new shipmates.
Plus, Miri hoped, Sandara might eventually be willing to let her leave. It would seem, as she thought back on the battle, that there was plenty her new friend hadn’t shared with Miri. Not that she had any obligation to.
Miri sheathed her short swords, wiped her bloody hands on herself, and grabbed hold of the knotted rope, swinging out towards the Blood Red Rose.

Landing safely on the other side, wounds not interfering the slightest, Miri rested her feet on top of the dark red wood ship. It was clean, still somewhat wet from somehow emerging out of the water below. Crew moved in well practiced movements, helping herd the new arrivals to an out of the way area -a place once Bear Throat's crewmen seemed to be ushered to- while others were unloading trunks from the shadow jumping woman who kept stepping in and out of shadows with bounty looted from the Bear's Throat.
Kroop waved Miri over.
"Seems we're all supposed ta wait o'er here till the Captain can address us." He said when she finally made her way over. Glancing at her still bleeding form he frowned and started to pat himself down, ultimently handing over a flask with strong booze. "Here, tide ya over till Sandara can take a look at ye... ne'er thought Aye'd see her fightin' Harrigan." He thumbed over to where their battle seemed to be finishing up, Sandara bringing down her sword one last time, sending Harrigan to fall out of eyesight.
The sun peaked over the horizon then, sending the sky into a beautiful sunrise.
"Alright, 'aright, make way fer teh Quartermaster." A rough voice called out around deck not too long after. Muscular and wiry, covered in tattoos, pouches of gunpowder at his waist. Those on deck made a sort of semi-circle as Sandara swung over on a rope, the on fire Throat giving a picturesq background to her arrival. She landed then reached into her vest and pulled out a bound notebook and held it high. Cheers of approval met the documents.
"Ye're damn right Aye found 'em." She yelled back as she looked around to see who was here. "Syla? Everyone home?"
The shadow jumper responded from her position around the semi-circle. "Aye, we're all clear."
"Then Yuzu, give teh Bear's Throat ah send off."
"FIRE!" A boisterous yell echoed across the deck from the tattooed man who'd called out to make room for Sandara. From below a series of cannons began to let loose, their booming energy rocking the boat slightly. Cannons ripped into the side of the ship and it began to take on water.
Sandara waved a hand signal and the sails opened up, magnificently red. They began to catch the air and move the ship forward. As they were moving, leaving the still burning and now taking on water Bear's Throat behind them, Sandara turned to the small gathering of previous Bear's Throat crew members with a huge beaming smile.
"Welcome aboard, one an' all, to Teh Blood Red Rose. Aye'm Quartermaster Sandara Quinn, temporary takin' teh Captain role o' this fine ship. Ye'll find nae such restrictions o' press-ganged behavior 'ere like ye experienced on teh Throat. If you're injured, head to the deck below and Aye'll be around to patch ye up. Now, Aye'm sure ye have questions, but those will be answered in time. Fer right now? Rest, get patched up, an' enjoy teh journey as ah passenger. We're headed tae Luksan with ah stop in Waterdeep." She bowed to everyone on board, hat sweeping out then turning upward so the hat made a sort of bowl.
"But first, please, your feathers back if you will."
