Because I'm always a sucker for these things, what songs suit your character?
For Juliette there's two that immediately serve as inspiration.
General: The Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel.
I particularly like the opening, but the whole song serves pretty well for the mood I try to evoke with Juliette
"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence"
It also totally feels like cheating for a Vengeance Paladin, but for combat: Vengeance - Zack Hemsey
"Before I die alone
Before my time has gone
There's just one thing I have to do
Before the fire and stone
Before your world is gone
Have you some patience
Cause I will have my vengeance"

Well, for H.J., the song that immediately comes to mind is "Fifteen Men On A Dead Man's Chest":
The next obvious choice is "Drunken Sailor." But I prefer the Blaggards' version:

I'll bite, too!
For Astra, these seem appropriate.
Conspiracy by Paramore
Open Up Your Eyes by Daughtry
Get Me Through (also by Daughtry) is a close third, although it's more appropriate to her happier times.
I love the sound and feel of both songs (slow, heavy start with a rising intensity), and for me it captures Astra's essence pretty well.

Finding songs for Echo has actually been REALLY tough. Partially because my usual style of music doesn't fit her I feel and also because she's based on another OC of mine who HAS several good character songs, but which don't fit the changes I made for Echo, which then threw me for a bit of a loop. I still haven't found a good "fight song" for her. One that I stumbled across that fits her in general though is Lady Stardust by Lisa Miskovsky. It fits really well for her fascination with the world, has a little bit of a whimsical nature (which is singing/performer themed to boot!), and even touches a bit on her perseverance moving past all the things she's faced in her past. It's the type of song I like to imagine Faint Riddle taught her and which she would sing to keep her spirits lifted during low times. A second is Slow and Steady by Of Monsters and Men. This one is a bit on the sadder side: I feel it fits best for those nights when Echo can't help but remember the family and best friend that she lost. Performer themed again (dancing this time!) and I really like that it still has a sort of optimistic feel to it, that even though she's lost a lot she's moved past it and will deal with whatever comes next. Bonus: actual restored and colorized video of Echo playing her flute while the party kicks someone's ass (circa 1489 DR).

I usually like to make playlists. Yesephina has proven difficult for me, but if you’re on the discord then you might have seen my sketch of my thoughts for another character. Her playlist was easy. That will come later ;) YesephinaBaby Blue; Cage the Elephant / Getting Down the Germs; Gerard Way / Good Grief; Bastille / Pedestrian At Best; Courtney Barnett / Aberdeen; Cage the Elephant / Nobody Likes The Opening Band; idkhbtfm / House Of Gold; Twenty One Pilots / Humility; Gorillaz / Judas; Cage the Elephant / bonus NSP song, because everyone deserves a little Dan Avidan in their day!

I love finding songs for characters! I generally, like you do, Taakotv, end up creating a playlist. For Citrine (still pending approval) she has a whole playlist that ranges from general mood music to telling her history in song form. I have a link to it in her profile, but some of my favorites come from artist Blackmore's Night, Celtic Woman, violin covers and original music I've found from various YouTubers, scottish music, etc.
On the lyrical side I associate heavily The Skye Boat Song from the show Outlander (as well as the original composition, and other Outlander fan songs). A handful of Taylor Swift songs (I'm a huge Swift fan XD, and a personal favorite - The Rattlin' Bog.
I can add in video links later when I don't have YouTube blocked at work...

That's right everybody, this thread isn't dead! For Laurelai, in honour of her duplicitous nature, I have two song for her. There's the public face: Adelitas Way - Invincible Upbeat, confident, unstoppable. Laurelai firmly believes that at least 90 per cent of success is projecting the impression that anything else is absolutely impossible. This song just powers up that raw energy and momentum when she gets going; no time to pause, no reason to hesitate, just push on through and make sure that anyone who fucks with you doesn't live to regret it. "Believe me You've never met another one like me Bet you've never seen the things that I've seen Bottled up inside this time 'Cause I'm taking back my life." And then there's the reality: Zack Hemsey - "The Way" It's hard to pick the particular line of lyrics which makes this fitting. The sense of sadness and dread slowly building the tension really helps underscore her current mental state, and the whole rap really feels like it could come straight out of her mouth if she were actually inclined to speak openly about what she is up to and where she's come from. Some have said that I was given keys to the city of your dreams
I'm more content to walk outside the walls and catch a breeze
I'm more inclined to climb on by or ride internal seas
I'm more alive to vibe inside a mansion full of trees
I do this for a reason that they can't pretend to glean
I lose myself infused in something more than what they've seen
I'm not a slave to greed
I don't embrace your make believe
I've never been for sale, no matter what they think I need
So let it be decreed
Let this music serve the deed
Let it spread like a disease
Let it spawn a noble seed
There's more than meets the eye
There's more than meets the price
If you can't see the sky there's too much artificial light
I can't predict my path, but they can't fully see my past
I'm running from the flash but heading straight inside the blast
A mountain full of ego built upon a heap of trash
Is exactly what you get when you can't fully do the math And of course, it becomes a lot more triumphant towards the end - because whilst she might not get a happy ending, she certainly deserves a heroic one.

Thea has quite a long playlist, including Sia, Florence and the Machine, YONAKA, Bastille, and many others! There is a strong emphasis at the moment on songs about leaving behind guys that are bad for you. However, the song that says "Thea" to me the most is Lavender Bones by Stand Atlantic.

I tend to have one song that I repeat over and over again to help me focus or re-focus on a character. For Orin, it is "Daughter of the Sea," along with the "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag" and "Assassin's Creed: Odyssey" soundtracks. For Goromitali, I listen to the "God of War (2018)" soundtrack, my current favorite from it being "Echoes of an Old Life." I'm currently working on actual playlists, but anything with words tends to distract me while I write, which then takes me down the rabbit hole that is YouTube.
