To keep things quick and moving, here you go!
Your survivals got you notzhing. But you both are in solid agreement, you are not in Waterdeep anymore.
Thea's perception lets her spot some herd movement to the East, in the same direction as the smokey misty geyer spring area, but from here you aren't sure exactly what they are, as they are miles away.
To get down from the cliff, make some checks! In effort of time, roll using the following guidelines (using acrobatics or athetics) The survival checks would have given you advantage on all these rolls: DC 10 to get off the cliff side you are on now to slide the about 10 feet of height from top A to middle section B DC 5 to navigate through a more flat cliff side of a wheelchair ramp like slope, but loose gravel, to get to end section C DC 10 to get through the much steeper turning into grassy hill without slipping to get to forest edge start D (assuming you head in an Eastern direction)
Failure in first set is 1d6 damage Failure in second set is a bruised ego and your DM laughing at you for failing a DC 5 check (that I am making you roll) Failure on the third set is tumbling downhill and taking 1d6 damage
Also, at this point too, feel free to roll with or without stealth (but remember you can only then use half movement, therefore roll twice in each section of A/B/C) or just go for it.

“I don’t…” Thea glanced around again. “I can’t tell much from the trees,” she admitted, squinting. “But… there!” She pointed east, where she could just vaguely discern what looked like movement near the rising columns of steam. “I think I see movement,” she told Goromitali. “It’s hard to tell, but it looks like a herd of… something.”
“I think we ought to go for it,” Thea grinned, cheerfully, at Goromitali, mood still buoyed quite high by the excitement of being in a new place. “… Better than standing here!”

Goromitali would inhale, as ready as he could be at the moment before Thea pointed out a heard of something to the east. He would look in the direction, not being able to percieve anything for himself at the moment. Instead, he would just trust Thea on the matter. Besides, it would be better than staying here, as Thea said.
The dragonborn would stand, stretching slightly now that he wasn't in a shop where he had to duck under the doorway. He would look toward Thea, then the cliff below them, their first obstacle. At the worst, it'd be only about ten feet before the ground, then another twenty, maybe thirty, before the start of the forest below them. Goromitali would look over the air genasi next to him before coughing. "If you wanted, I could probably carry you down the cliff- maybe like a backpack?" He would offer to Thea with a head-tilt as he spoke, looking back out toward the east.
Taking a knee to let Thea get adjusted and settled on his hardened, scaled back and broad sholders, the dragonborn would move toward the cliff. Goromitali wouldn't waste time with telling her to hold on, and after a moment, he had started over the cliff and down, claws digging into the grip-spots he could find.

Quick edit for damage taken: 1d6
Down the first part was easy enough for the monk, despite the combined weight of both Goromitali and Thea being the cause of a dramatic slip, one of the rocks clicking down the side into the ground below them. Still, though, with the dragonborn's height, they only really had to get five feet over before he simply dropped, landing with the loud crunch of loose gravel at the bottom, with both of them fine.
Moving toward the second part, with the loose gravel, Goromitali still walked carefully. The added weight probably helped them not slip through the gravel in the first place.
The third part, though? Two steps in, Goromitali's foot drove through the ground, and he tumbled forward with a jerking motion. Thankfully not landing on Thea, the two would slide loudly down the side of the hill, coming to a rest toward the bottom of the slope. Dust and rocks would cover Gorom's body as he coughed and hissed in pain. The dewclaw of his left foot had cracked and broken off, and he sat up, looking over his foot for a moment before looking back toward Thea.
Standing up, Goromitali would offer her a hand up, limping on his left as he got used to the broken dewclaw. "Sorry. Wasn't expecting the hole," he would apologize with a little bit of a huff from his nostrils, pride hurt more than any significant physical damage.1d20+5·1d20+5··1d20+5·1d6

Thea hesitated, glancing at the tall dragonborn, then at the (long, dramatically tall) cliff. “That would be much appreciated, thank you,” she said, smiling at Goromitali. Being carried down the hill sounded much better than trying to pick her way down, particularly the first (steep) slope. Goromitali knelt, and Thea climbed onto his back, doing her best to wrap his arms around his neck without choking him, clinging to him like a backpack.
All Thea really had to do was try to hold tight and not move or off-balance the dragonborn. The sudden drop at the end of the first bit of cliff produced a faint squeak, but Thea kept her grip tight, and Goromitali landed fine, moving as if there wasn’t an entire human-sized creature clinging to him like a backpack.
By the time they made it through the gravel, Thea had relaxed a little, loosening her hold slightly. Maybe that was for the best – when Goromitali slipped, Thea flew free, landing mostly on her left arm and sliding down the hill, rolling once with the momentum.
Thea coughed, curling up a bit at the bottom, taking a few moments to just – breathe. That hadn’t been nearly as fun as she remembered rolling down hills as a girl being. Goromitali reached out a hand, and Thea took a deep breath, clasping it and climbing to her feet. “No problem,” she grinned at him. “I’m fine, don’t worry about it.”
The pronouncement might have been a little optimistic. Thea’s pants and dirt were both dirty, with a few rips in the finer blue fabric of the shirt. Worse, her left arm was thoroughly scraped from wrist to elbow, and her wrist throbbed in a way that made Thea wonder if she’d sprained it. Her right hand felt fine, though, so it was easy enough to accept Goromitali’s help, and a few quick steps proved that while she felt a little bruised and battered all over, nothing else seemed to be seriously injured.

In the forest edge proper now, the shade is cool and the smells lush. Goromitali, with his background traits, can already tell there is a small source of running water nearby and spots several edible plants. They would not starve or dehydrate here, that much was certain.
The noise of their fall had quieted the forest, but quick enough the sounds came back. Birds chirped, the wind pleasantly knocked branches together as the wind went from west to east, not very fast, but a breeze was present more often then not.

Helping Thea up from the ground, Goromitali hissed to himself, partially more out of embarrassment than the physical pain, but at least they were at the edge of the forest. It was here, slowly, as the two of them recovered from the dragonborn's slip, that he'd wait a minute, as if listening. Slowly, the birds came back with their melodies and the winds brought back the songs of the groaning branches and scrapping leaves that fluttered in the canopy above.
The wind was nice, but Goromitali knew that anything they were approaching to the east would more easily perceive their scent, but it wasn't a strong breeze, so the dragonborn bargained that they should be good, at least until they got within range to physically see any kind of target they were looking for. "You can walk, Massster Thea Baring?" Goromitali would inquire before stepping toward the east where Thea had spotted some movement.
"If you do not mind me asssking," Goromitali would speak in quiet bass, "what race are you?" he would look over her. Since they had met, Goromitali hadn't been able to place the fact that she was genasi, and it would be better than silence the entire way east. "I have never ssseen anyone who wasss your color that wasss not a dragonborn." Ironically, blue dragons also used lightning, not that Goromitali knew that about Thea, either. His eyes moved around, scanning the transitioning roofs of leaves across the treetops above them. Who knew what manner of beasts resided in this new area of the world, and while they moved east, he would pick up the small flowing churn of a nearby stream; pick out the familiar plants and roots they could use to eat if they happened to be here long enough to make that necessary.

The first step had hurt, Thea had to admit; she reached down to probe at her left leg, finding a bruise but nothing worse; the second and third were easily, her muscles loosening out a little. “Yes, I’ll be fine,” Thea smiled at Goromitali. She took a last moment to shake herself out a little before following Goromitali east, deeper into the forest.
“I’m known as an air genasi,” Thea smiled at Goromitali, not offended by the question. “There aren’t… that many of us, although Waterdeep is perhaps one of the better place to find us.” She glanced around the forest as they walked as well. Unlike Goromitali, Thea wasn’t terribly good at recognizing plants and roots, or even the sounds of streams. All the same, she enjoyed the chatter of birds overhead, and did her best to pay attention.
“I’ll admit,” Thea glanced sideways at Goromitali. “I haven’t met many dragonborns.” For once, she hoped not to let him weasel out of conversation. “What brought you to Waterdeep?”

He had heard of, but never seen, a genasi before. The way she said air led Goromitali to believe there were other types, just like the colors of a dragonborn. Speaking of which: "We do not really populate the Sssword Coassst, no," Goromitali would nod with what she was saying. He himself hadn't really seen too many dragonborn out and about in Waterdeep, outside of the occasional one, maybe two. Either way, though, the dragonborn would fall quiet, looking over toward Thea with a head-tilt as she asked about what had brought him to Waterdeep.
It was maybe an almost awkward silence before the dragonborn answered. "My wife," the dragonborn started, simply enough. "Julakesh, sia altiuiri (my wings; draconic),"Goromitali would continue, for once, not drag out the s in a word. "Ssshe was from the Sssword Coassst, from Waterdeep. Ssshe-" Goromitali would think of how to say what he wanted without completely bringing down the mood of their journey together. "-passssed away recently, ssso I wanted to sssee where ssshe wasss from."
For a moment, Goromitali would simply look forward, scanning the trees (to no avail, going off the previous roll) and listening to the general ambiance of the area around them. "What about yourssself?"

There was a long pause where Thea thought that Goromitali would leave the question unanswered. She wouldn’t push, she decided; if, however unintentionally, Thea had struck a nerve? She would do her best not to dig any deeper. Perhaps Goromitali was just unusually private, or perhaps it was a trait of all dragonborns; she could well imagine they were a proud people.
“Julakesh,” Thea did her best to repeat the word, half-under her breath, trying to commit to memory – only to stop, utterly freezing, when Goromitali explained that she had recently passed away. She bit her lip, feeling utterly guilty for bringing it up, then started walking again, hurrying just a little to catch the dragonborn.
“I am sorry for your loss,” Thea said, quietly. “I hope your time in Waterdeep may bring you whatever peace you can find.” She joined Goromitali in glancing at the trees (were they trees? who could tell, with rolls like those?) for a time, and turned back, blinking, when he turned the question back on her.
“I am from Sembia, originally,” Thea smiled at Goromitali. “Urmlasypr, in particular,” she glanced back out at the trees. “I came to Waterdeep looking for a change, I suppose. It is a beautiful city.” She couldn’t quite manage herself to be as open as Goromitali had been, first because it seemed uncomfortable to tell a relative stranger about breaking up with her boyfriend, and second because it felt as, by doing so, she would be implying her pain was somehow comparable to his. Yes, there were times when Thea wished Dom dead – generally half-heartedly – but she couldn’t conceive of the agony of having lost him, at least back when she’d thought he was someone worth being with.
“Might I ask an ignorant question?” Thea searched for a (slightly more) neutral topic. “The breath you exhaled towards Marius – is that something all dragonborn are able to do?”

Goromitali would nod as Thea repeated his wife's name, and again when Thea apologized. "It isss fine, Massster Thea Baring," Goromitali would tell her. His mind, for a moment, was drawn back to the Wyrmskull Inn on the High Road. It secretly fueled his next response: "I am sssure I will find my peace."
Omnious.
The dragonborn would listen- Sembia. He had passed through the first Dales he had ventured through, north of there, but had never been there personally, so knew next to nothing other than the name. Even the specific name of Urmlasypr was lost on the dragonborn, though he would never admit it. "I remember the landsss of Tymanther where I wasss born, and my journeysss brought me eassst, acrossss the Sssea of Fallen Starsss and to a place known as Everessska in the Wessstern Heartlandsss." Goromitali recollected as they moved, tilting his head in Thea's direction to speak.
"It would be more ignorant if you did not asssk," the dragonborn continued with a sagely nod, then thought for a moment. "Yesss- at least asss far asss I know. It isss sssimilar to actual dragonsss. The type of breath is determined by our color," he would explain. "Green, as you sssaw, isss a potent form of poissson. Blue dragonborn can ssspew lightning. Red dragonborn can exhale fire. Sssame with gold dragonborn. White and sssilver dragonborn have a cold breath. The older a dragonborn is, the more potent the breath." Just the thought of his breath made him stop speaking for a moment and swish his tongue over the inside of his lips, over his teeth.
"While we are not the sssame exactly as dragonsss, we ssshare traitsss," Goromitali would continue. "We all like ssshiny thingsss, for example," he would grin, the one form of smiling that didn't involve showing pointed teeth.
While he was answering the question, Goromitali brought his attention downward, looking on more of the ground level to see if he could get a lead on anything that may help them on their way toward their target- tracks, droppings, markings on a tree- anything that would say they were going the right way more than "they were a straight line away from the cliff that Goromitali had dropped them both down."

“I have never seen Evereska, nor Tymanther,” Thea smiled at Goromitali. “Someday, perhaps I will,” her eyes skipped over the trees around them, marveling yet again in their newness and the little breeze in her hair picked up, sending it flailing out enthusiastically. She wracked her brain, trying to think – Tymanther was, she thought, in the south-eastern corner of the Sea of Fallen Stars. “I did visit Chessentia, once, as a girl,” Thea grinned. “I remember best how impressed I was by Mouth Thulbane, though we saw it only from a distance.”
Thea nodded to Goromitali’s explanation. “It was very impressive,” she grinned at Goromitali. “Your aim is excellent; I was very grateful for that.” Reflexively, Thea’s hand brushed over her side; the wound was gone, leaving not even the slightest hint of a scar. “… Did the guards tell you they let Sir Marius out?” Her voice twisted a little on the sir. Thea wrinkled her nose. “So much for the justice of Waterdeep.”
Thea took a deep breath, inhaling, exhaling, and refocused her attention on the woods around them. Perhaps now she would be able to see or hear something in the trees to help guide them?

The two are walking through the woods, enjoying the weather and pleasant conversation. You learn more about each other, exchanging pleasantries. You don't notice though that the light is getting dimmer and dimmer with each passing quarter of an hour. Until? Even the most obtuse and oblivious of you realize. It's dark. Had it really gotten that late that quick? You swore only maybe an hour had gone by. But... can either of you actually tell time here? In this new plane of existence?
You're walking in the woods. There's no one around, no animals at all. No bird calls. No grunts of larger critters. No scampering of squirrels or rabbits. A slight hazy rain starts to fall, more of a mist, as you walk further, trying to find any sort of path. But neither of you can get your barrings. At all. The mist dims your vision to only about 60 feet out.
