Biography
Character Name: Jin Hua
Character Level: 3
Race: Half-Elf
Gender: Female
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Deity: None
Size: Medium
Hair: Raven Black
Eyes: Amber-Red
Height: 213 cm // 7'0"
Weight: 99 Kg // 219 lbs
Age: 38
Appearance: Tall, dark, and beautiful is an apt description for the self-assigned Black Dragon. Standing at a ludicrous 7 feet tall, she towers over most with a cool and mysterious aura that lends her confidence. She is athletic, but incredibly svelte and bears a feminine figure. Her straight, raven black hair, amber-red eyes, pale skin combined with her foreign appearance and attire only at to this allure.
History: “What do you see when you gaze upon me, stranger? Perhaps your heart was softened by an alluring face? Regardless, allow me to tell you my tale, and you shall perhaps reconsider your thoughts on me.
I was once a little girl in a village. Poor, weak, insignificant. You would believe a girl such as her could do no harm, but my fellow villagers believed otherwise. A prophecy branded me a cursed child, someone who bore the hatred of a dragon, and would one day bring ruin to them. Ever superstitious, they all heeded this prophecy and ostracised me.
But it wasn’t easy to keep down the ever optimistic little Jin Hua. Oh, how idealistic I was, for I believed that I could win back their favour by proving them wrong. My young, naïve self set out on a mission. To champion the cause of the weak and poor, fight for the right causes. Using my skill in diplomacy, I pulled in many and caused change. Real change. Even when the nobles started threatening and harassing me, I never stopped, instead training in the sword to defend myself and give hope that the poor could rebel against the rich. I even won a few friends back in my home village. True friends, who stood fast by me through the toughest of times.I would not be here without them.
I was good once upon a time.
You may think this story is building to tragedy… and you would be right. Despite having garnered friends and allies, the village was still largely against me. Nobility, knowing this, curried dissent and paranoia among the village. My friends defended me, but they were woefully outnumbered. They were slaughtered like animals, and I was there to see the last of them fall to her knees. Dead, lifeless.
That sight awoke something in me. A beast, fuelled by decades of accumulated hatred and resentment. I could’ve pushed it down, I could’ve controlled myself.
But I didn’t.
My next memory is of being surrounded by the bloody bodies of my fellow villagers. I had slughtered them, mercilessly, with no regard for life. I had allowed this draconic beast of hatred to grant me power, fed into my rage. I had proven all of them right; that I was a cursed child, someone who would bring ruin to their village. After all, I had become a mass murderer in the span of half an hour. By all means, I am the monster they proclaimed me to be.
All those lives, snuffed out due to nothing more than an onslaught of emotion.
I fled. Not only was I a monster, but a coward as well, for I could not face the trial I knew I deserved. I left Shou Lung, left Kara-Tur entirely, and eventually arrived here. Somewhere, in my heart, I yearn for redemption.
But does a murderous beast even deserve it?”
Personality: The first impression Jin Hua gives is of mystery. Everything about her is foreign, from her mannerisms, to her way of speaking, to even her place of birth. All is shrouded in mystery. Combined with her forward, confident bearing and objective-focused nature, this all compounds to make her a remarkably unapproachable individual. Despite this, she knows how to turn this mystery into allure. Indeed, many are curious about who she is, and her skill in speechcraft turn what would be considered a solitary recluse into a mysterious beauty.
But this cool front hides a vicious, raging storm underneath. Jin Hua is is short-tempered, moody, and suffers from cripplingly low self-esteem. Her desire to do good and redeem herself is constantly stymied by her outbursts of anger built up over a long time, and those who know how to push her buttons can easily make her fall into a predictable course of action. She also believes she is undeserving of friends, and thus doesn't go to the effort of acquiring one.
A self-fulfilling prophecy, one might say.
Despite all these flaws, Jin Hua endeavours to be a kind and understanding woman. She is accepting of any quirk or odd tendency others might have, and will readily assist a person in need. In spite of her aforementioned tendency to close herself off to potential friends, she does desire one deep inside, and will not push away those who reach out to her. In this manner, she could be considered to be emotionally dependent on her friends, but she is steadfastly loyal to them. She would only turn on them if she believed their soul was blackened beyond the point of redemption.
Above all else, Jin Hua desires redemption. A place to call home, to bring justice to those who orchestrated the events of her village. If she were to calm her erratic emotions and mend the image of herself, she could truly become what she seeks to be.
