Anthony listened intently to the conversation, perking up when he heard mention of opening the mine. Clearing goblins and stopping bandits paid the bills, sure, but the chance to have a long term stake in an industrial operation? That was too good to pass up. He imagined the mine would need some funding, and Anthony was always on the lookout for investments. He became lost in thought, tallying up possible expensives and technical details, before finally shaking his head of the details and snapping back to the present. "We will look into his disappearance, I assure you".

Sildar smiles and puts the heavy purse back down under the desk, "Excellent, I knew I could rely on you lot. I wish you all the best of luck."
Seeing the bag return below-desk, the fat, mustachio-wielding man at the other desk pipes up, "Uh, yes! You're here about the orcs at Wyvern Tor I hope?"

Avren, having finished double-checking her reward, crossed her arms and glanced over at the impatient, desperate man. Her expression is mildly curious but also a bit skeptical. "That depends. We already have a mission that takes priority. How urgent is this and what details do you have? I'm not going to promise anything without knowing the specifics. And keep in mind that we're four people, not an army."
A challenge could be welcome, given the right incentive. But she wasn't going to blindly pledge herself to something that, at first glance, could require a full-fledged mercenary company on the field of battle. Orcs were even more of a hassle than goblins, and they'd barely survived a cave full of those. Though...they didn't have Anthony last time, and that was something to take into consideration.

The man stands up and begins walking around his desk, twirling his mustache with his fingers. "Well, it is of utmost importance! We can't have settlers getting attacked on their way to our fine little town. Not at this time of burgeoning prosperity that I am overseeing. Reports say that local farmsteaders have been raided and caravaners looted around the area of Wyvern Tor, to the east."

Aronin rubbed his chin while listening to the the town master's pitch. It did sound to be quite the hassle to take care of a bunch of Orcs, especially if their only reward was payment. The wizard wasn't too interested in earning riches alone. Sildar's quest offered them a once in a lifetime chance to discover a long lost magical mine, with who knows what hidden in it! Eliminating some Orcs for some quick payment seemed less motivating.. although they would be saving innocent travelers on the road.
He sighed then turned to the town master, "Your job does sound important, but as my friend here has said, we are already on a job. If we run into them on the road, I don't see a problem in handling them then. What do you guys think?" He turned to the others questioningly.

Lykus nods in agreement
"Not only is Gundren our friend, Sildar is paying more."
The town-master 'hurrumphs' with indignation before returning to his desk to sulk.
Lykus continues,
"We should return those crates to the Lionshield Coster and see what they're willing to pay for 'em before we head out."

"If we can get to that without compromising our first mission...sure. I can agree to that." Avren shrugged at the town-master, silently finding him more than a little presumptuous but desperation did strange things to people. Still, they couldn't be everywhere at once. She had heard of more than a few adventuring parties meeting a bad end because they'd spread themselves too thin. That wasn't going to be her, if she could help it.
"Right, let's put that next on the agenda." She nodded to Lykus and glanced over to Anthony to see if he agreed with them or had more to say.

Anthony nodded in agreement. "I'm afraid it will have to take second priority. But should we have the opportunity and time, I don't see why not".

You take your reward from Sildar and head back out into Phandalin to cross the square (which is actually not-at-all square) to the Lionshield Coster. The townmaster, Harbin Wester, does not look to pleased about the less-than-enthusiastic uptake of his quest and you do note that curiously, he did not mention the Redbrands, which, as townmaster, would probably be of some importance.
As you cross the square, you see the two groups of loitering men have congregated into one larger group and as you exit the townmaster's hall, one of them points at you while chatting with the others before another smacks his arm down and then pretends he hasn't noticed you.
Hanging above the front door of this modest trading post is a sign shaped like a wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it. And as you enter the warehouse you see shelves lines with crates and a number of clerks and storemen moving boxes and checking lists as a wagon is unloaded. Overseeing the operation is a woman in her thirties she sees you enter and approaches the group.
"Ah here they are! The Triboar Trio! And you've made a friend I see? Well whether you share your reward is up to you but here it is."
She hands you another coin purse with what seems to be about 50gp inside.
"Word travels fast in a small town, and word would have it that you are the ones who recovered my shipment! I'm Linene Greywind and I oversee this branch of the Coster. You have my eternal gratitude for salvaging that wagonload of goods."
