Biography
Character Name: Yagyu Katsuno
Character Level: 3
Race: Human (Variant)
Gender: Female
Alignment: Neutral Good
Deity: None
Size: Medium
Hair: Pink
Eyes: Peach
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 165 lbs.
Age: 20
Appearance:
A tall and hardened, yet feminine woman. Her loose clothing belies her powerful muscles as well as hiding the fact that she's missing her right arm. She lets her pink hair grow into a ponytail, and has a sharp peach-coloured eye, the other one missing and covered by an eyepatch. Said eyepatch once belonged to the brother of the man who cut her arm off, but she doesn't know that.
History: Hailing from Kozakura, Katsuno was born in the unfortunate environment of a raging civil war in her homeland. She had little room to contemplate her situation, however, for she was trained from the get-go to fight in battles for the glory of her clan. Hardened from a young age and blinded by promises of glory and prosperity for her clan, she fought and bled for them.
But of course, such promises are often empty, and this was the case here. Katsuno never saw any of the peace and prosperity the Yagyu heads claimed, only more and more fighting. Like any soldier, it was only a matter of time before she suffered an injury that took her out of commission for a while. For her, it was the loss of her arm, cut off by an enemy too strong for the likes of her. However, in a strange turn of events, he showed her mercy.
This and her time away from combat made her think for the first time in what seemed like ever. About what she was doing, and the blood that was constantly shed with seemingly no end in sight. The man could have easily killed her but chose not to, and it caused her such an epiphany that she couldn't help but stop and contemplate her position.
She concluded that she wanted no part in this senseless bloodshed, and so deserted her clan. She travelled West, away from Kozakura, and eventually found herself in Waterdeep, with a new mindset and desire to end the cycle of blood being washed away with blood.
Personality: Previously hot-headed and eager to fight, Katsuno is now a calmer and more mellowed out person. She does her best to carry herself with a smile and lighten the mood in the room, whether it be through a positive attitude or some silly jokes. She loves to banter with fellow adventurers and have conversations about the current state of the world. Though not the smartest person around, it's very obvious to all that talk to her that she's seen blood aplenty, whether by looking at the state of her body or the way she speaks.
But where she differs is in precisely her want for the ceasing of what she's seen. She knows better than most that revenge can only bring about a cycle of hatred, and so is a remarkably forgiving person, sometimes to the point of naivete. She will almost always opt for a peaceful solution and is hesitant to take any sort of life. She draws her sword only as a last resort.
Of course, she is not without flaws. She has a tainted view of who she is, considering herself to be nothing more than a woman with far too much
blood on her hands. As a result, she sometimes tries too hard to atone for her sins. She can also struggle to see the small details, focusing on the bigger picture rather than the necessary nuances to every moral stance one takes.
