Miri whistled in appreciation of Kieran and Solstice’s strikes, although she cringed faintly in sympathy when the creatures ganged up against Kieran. She was already moving, short sword still drawn, coming in towards the creature that Solstice had marked, her second hand moving to draw a second shortsword and swing it at the creature.
Again, whether successful or not, Miri would move back after attacking, leaving a little space between herself and the monster.

Miri's exceptional work with the shortswords was the end for the wounded gargoyle. Her first strike bit deeply, but it was the second, less powerful that finished off the creature for good. It collapsed to the ground mid-snarl, its face frozen in fiendish defiance.

The first firebolt went wide, sailing deeper into the room. He cursed the metal arm, and resigned himself to tinkering with it all night. He would have to find some way to keep the foci aligned. In the meantime, they had two very angry stone creatures to deal with. was already adjusting his aim when Kieran leapt into action. With the combined might of the rest of the team, the first gargoyle fell quickly. Anthony shifted his gaze, his eyes locking on the second beast.
His hand dipped to his waist, grabbing a small metal canister from his belt. A brief pulse of arcane energy, transferred through his palm to the device, was sufficient to animate it. It began to break down, raw materials being moved and shifted to create something. By the time he had raised his hand again, the canister had become an eldritch cannon. It was small, no larger than a hand crossbow. Aiming at the Gargoyle, he double checked his math in his head again (his version of praying it would work), and pulled the trigger. There was a quiet whine, followed by a resounding clap of thunder as a bolt of pure force was fired from the barrel.
(using an Action to summon a Tiny Eldritch Cannon, and a Bonus Action to use it.)

K ieran had, naturally, positioned himself in harm's way and perhaps had no expectations about engaging the statues unscathed—it wasn't as if he minded a bit of pain now and then. He moved with his typical grace, aware of his companions' positions once they joined him in melee in their own ways, managing to narrowly sidestep a swipe of a claw and jam his quarterstaff upward in time to shove away snapping teeth, though the gargoyles managed to connect with his unarmored charcoal flesh, and the half-drow growled about it, string of Undercommon curses through grit teeth.
"Thank y' much."
Shifting his footing as one of the two creatures dropped at the edge of his focused vision, Kieran vocalized his gratitude just as he smashed his weapon into the remaining beast, not unaware of the lessened effect of impact this second time. It felt different against his experienced arm and so he dropped the staff, pressing forward with the momentum of his lithe body. As he did so, faint markings on both his hands glowed a subtle violet, smoky tendrils of light trailing from his knuckles before he landed two strikes into the gargoyle with a far more satisfactory sensation against his curled fists,
"These things seem t' have a tough skin." He thought to comment as he moved into a more defensive stance, making natural, easy space for the combative motions of others and somewhat bracing himself for more injury, aware that he was already a bleeding target. HP: 31 / 40 AC: 17 Ki: 2 / 3 Action: Quarterstaff, with Advantage (Natural Explorer) Bonus Action: Spent 1 ki to take 2 unarmed attacks Spells Prepared: Cure Wounds, Ensnaring Strike, Hunter's Mark, Dancing Lights, Darkness, and Faerie Fire

The remaining gargoyle was considerably worse for the wear after Kieran realized his bare fists made more of an impact than the staff and dropped the weapon, opting for unarmed strikes instead. It released a loud bellow, as the fists connected worse than the staff ever had, and now there was no one to team up with to beat down the annoyingly fast half-drow. That didn't stop the gargoyle from doing what it could to pierce Kieran's own skin with tooth and claw, apparently determined to take down someone with him.
Solstice refused to let that happen before her eyes, if she could help it. "Good work, now let me see what I can do to soften it up some more!" Her bright blue eyes had a hardened glint to them as she swung her weapon again and again, positioning herself to best take advantage of the party's teamwork. The creature was malevolent, brutal and the paladin wasn't going to give it a chance to flee or call for help. No, this was ending now, whether by her hand or that of an ally.

As the gargoyle's blowed failed to breach Kieran's defenses, Solstice slammed her way past the gargoyle's. That first strike cut deep, as much as Kieran's bare fists had, and the second was the one that sent it to the ground, collapsing mid-shriek. It grew still and sagged, its face frozen in an expression of pure hatred as Solstice pulled her blade clear.
The firbolg took a breath and straightened, looking over to Kieran. "That could've gone worse. Let me have a look at you, then. I've got some healing to spare and I won't have you limping from room to room." Her warm smile returned as she clapped a hand on his shoulder, filling him with the divine, healing energy of her goddess.

"Not bad," Miri said, cheerfully. She sheathed her offhand shortsword, and knelt to grab Kieran's quarterstaff, scooping it up and pressing it back into the half-drow's hands. Her hand brushed over his shoulder, for just a moment, but she was already moving away, and she didn't quite look at him as she did it.
"Let's try through here," Miri glanced around the room once more, looking down at the defeated gargoyles, and then back up to the other three with a grin. She followed where Kieran had led, crossing the threshold into the next room, blade in hand, curious as to what might lay in store (or in hiding) beyond.

The room Miri entered was a raised platform, a step up from the trapped foyer area. In the south-west corner of the room was a cushioned sitting down with an old worn children's doll laying on it. In the north-east corner was a stairwell, though a portcullis blocked the way up. Situated to the right of the stairwell was the statue of a griffon sitting atop a pedestal, holding up one of its front talons in a 'knocking' type stance.

Miri's keen eye for detail has her realizing that the eyes of the doll are strangely similar to those seen peering through the window before entering the mansion.

Anthony slipped the hand cannon through his belt, until he needed it again. The Gargoyles proved easy enough to deal with; though he imagined he would feel differently had he been the one to get hit. But it looked liked he was getting patched up magically, so it wasn't a huge loss. He stepped over the corpse of one of the creatures as they ventured into the next room. He was more on edge now, seeing as they had met actual resistance now. He eyed the statue of the griffin warily, suspicious that it may also come to life. He was careful to give it space as he slowly wandered the room, careful not to touch anything.

"Very welcoming," Miri said, cheerfully, glancing around. She looked up at the griffin, then back down at the battered doll.
“Anyone else get a creepy feeling from this doll?” Miri asked. “I’d swear I saw these same eyes when we were outside.”
She knelt in front of it, squinting, and reached out with her blade; she hesitated, holding the point just shy of the small doll. Miri shrugged, then, and prodded the doll with her shortsword. If it didn't react, she would go to pick it up; if it did - well, that would be a very different story.

Anthony could be fairly certain that the griffon statue was just that; a statue and not another gargoyle. It didn't move in the slightest, nor did anything hostile appear as he made his rounds. The room appeared to contain no hidden surprises, that he could discern. His keen eyes could note as well that Solstice's sword was not glowing again to alert them of danger.
Solstice eyed the doll with interest, though she trusted Miri's and Anthony's keen eyes over her own and didn't feel the need to personally inspect it. She watched Miri prod the doll, though nothing happened. "...just a doll, then? I'll laugh if that's actually the least creepy thing about this place, once we're finished with it." She shrugged. "Still...keep a lookout for more such eyes. Maybe this is a doll of whatever was actually watching us."
