Arlo was never going to let her live it down... She'd let herself get poisoned. Her lungs usually did better then this, but it had been a day or so since she'd purged the damage of her cigarettes to her organs. She felt the constriction to her breathing right away, keenly aware of how afflictions caused by airborne based poisons worked. She'd dabbled in enough drug crafting, drugs were just one step away from poison depending on who you asked.
Coughing into her metal arm Gigi stuttered a breath of air, trying to clear the taint from around her with her other hand. The cigarette she'd had in her mouth fell to the stones below. She could have purged the poison from her lungs right then and there, but if the creature sent another cloud out? It'd be pointless. She and the warrior could weather a bit of poison gas, she was sure of it.
Instead Gigi lifted her flesh hand to her mouth and pulled hard at one of the hangnails she'd been picking at earlier. The skin tore, blood pooling to flood her nail bed and dip under the decently manicured cut of the thumbnail she'd chosen. Yes she'd just bitten her thumb at the monster. No, she didn't think it would understand the insult. But the magic in her understood the rudeness implied. "... but I do bite my thumb, sir." The strange phrase triggering the effect into existence the creature would have to fortify its pride or suffer the consequences.

No more hesitating; Kara was in close, now, and too tempting a target. The monster was bleeding heavily now, blood dripping down its feathers and body, but it didn’t look anywhere close to giving in.
The monster lunged forward, viciously sharp beak tearing down at the figure three feet shorter, clad in half-plate, and followed it up with a powerful strike with its talons, kicking out at her torso with wickedly sharp claws.

This time, Kara felt the poison; a rush of it swept through her, brutally painful, at the same moment as the monster attacked. The beak caught her head, ripping blood streaks across her scalp and sending blood flying through the air; the massive talons caught her across the torso, squealing loudly across her armor and pinching the plates tight into her body, bruising but not cutting her. For all the response Kara gave, the attacks might as well not have happened. She was as calm as she’d been before, lunging at the creature with her glaive once more, striking it once with the butt in the chest, and launching two deep strikes with her blade.

The spores were persistent, she'd give it that. Wiping the blood on her cargo pants and quickly sticking the thumb in her mouth to clean the rest away Gigi held out her metal hand and reversed snapped yet again, purple necrotic energy splintering off her hand to toll church bells once again. A second tone, deeper then the first, now joined the ringing in the alleyway.

Yet again, the monster would shrug off Gigi's attacks as if they were nothing. It cocked its head to the side down at Kara, as if trying to puzzle out why she wasn't as dead as its first victim - but didn't seem particularly interested in hesitating to figure it out. With a triumphant squawk, it dived down at her again, raking at her with beak and claws.

The sweep down with the beak missed this time; Kara dodged to the side of it, only to hit the claw attack hard. Again, they raked her armor; again they squeezed it tight against her. One claw tore at it this time, opening up a jagged line through one of the plates, the rough metal sticking out into the air and revealing bloody and bruised skin beneath.
Kara still didn’t hesitate; didn’t try to pull away, didn’t try to do anything except another attack with all her strength and focus.

Frustrated, flustered, and fucking pissed off Gigi purged the poison from her lungs, just as she would have purged her lung damage - but this time it was fueled not by spell power but sheer stubborn Little Bird dedication to giving something the bird. Several times now this vulture thing was throwing off her spells like she was nothing but a splash of water sprinkled by flicking fingers.
Haunting words from her Father played in her head as Gigi stood there scowling at the thing. She could picture it now, her Father pacing back and forth in front of the parlor fireplace. Her mother daintily perched on a chaise lounge. And herself, right hand trembling as it cupped the bandaged and empty shoulder of her left side, head hanging low with her blonde hair limply over her shoulders.
The glaive master was throwing punch after punch, dedication and perseverance showing with each swing. And what was she doing? Standing here, doing nothing but send failed spell after failed spell. Just like a cleric. Had she shown aptitude for the arcane arts? She bet she'd be a better asset. But she wasn't an arcanist. She was just... Gigi.
Fuck it.
Green faded from her tattoos as the pink haired healer sprinted down the alleyway, eyes focused and jaw set. Ducking under the glaive blows Gigi inserted herself in-between the creature and the warrior, metal arm lifting high in order to soak the blows herself. If she couldn't affect it magically she could at least ensure the one actually pulling her weight could continue to fuck its day up.
Gigi looked under her lifted arm to meet eyes with Kara. No words were spoken, but there was a moment of understanding - least she hoped so. Breathing heavily, adrenaline surging through her blood, the healer gave the briefest of head nods. She wasn't going to ditch this. If she couldn't be helpful from far away? She'd put herself in-between as a living shield. An explosion of rose petals, vines, and other flora symbolism surrounded her - a red four petaled lotus flower the main focal point as Gigi whispered the word, "Muladhara."
Move - go up into the creature's grill to pull aggro like a good tank
Action - Dodge (attacks against me have disadvantage)
Bonus - Cast Shield of Faith, adding +2 divine bonus to AC to herself - concentration spell up to 10 minutes.
AC is now 19

Kara’s first slash bit deep, sinking into the creature’s chest and yanking forth with a huge burst of blood. No small cut to its side this; it was the first blow that the creature really seemed to feel, squawking and hissing in pain. Kara didn’t stop; she landed another glancing blow, then drove the butt of the glaive with all her strength into the wound she’d made earlier.
The creature clacked its beak, writhing in pain; it was bloodied, now, and had gone from looking inconvenienced to distinctly unhappy, beady yellow eyes gleaming with fury.
The target before it, inconveniently, had shrugged off several attacks that should have killed it; just look at how well they had worked on the human before! As such, when a new target presented itself, the monster obligingly switched targets, striking out to see if this new morsel might be easier to crack.

Kara had hit; she had hit well. Finally, the thing seemed fazed, at least slightly. But it kept coming at her; every hit hurt a little worse, and with every breath Kara could feel the poison seeping deeper into her. She coughed, once, unable to help it, and black-flecked blood splattered against her gauntlets. No matter. Kara meant to hold on, and she would, as long as it took, until – The woman with the metal arm shoved Kara back, forcing herself into the space between Kara and the creature. Kara shifted to the side, not losing proximity, looking at her. Their eyes met – and Kara understood, with a perfect synchronicity that she never managed to achieve outside of combat. She nodded, a faint gesture of gratitude, and was grateful for the brief respite. At least until the creature’s talons ripped into the other woman as if she were tissue paper. No; she couldn’t allow it. A brief flash of feeling ripped through the icy cold anger, shock and sorrow, and Kara gritted her teeth, letting it fuel her anger. She stepped forward, mustering all her strength to shove the monster back off the pink-haired woman.

Her arm wedged between the beats's mouth, blocking the beak from swinging hard into her. But the talons? Her shield wasn't angled well enough to catch the creature's claws as they easily swiped at her legs - tearing them both heavily. Cargo pants in rags and the hot welts of fresh blood dripping down her legs had Gigi grin and bearing it against the assault.
Her spell held firm.

Kara closed the distance, reversing their roles, putting herself in front of the pink-haired woman again, and lunged forward once more, throwing two more strikes at the creature.
