((ooc: Good to know! I'm admittedly not a big chat person, I'm always kind of quiet in larger group settings, but I will do my best to pop in, especially to keep up with stuff like that!! Also sorry for some slowness, just had a lot going on.))
As a performer, Crispin had pretty good skills when it came to acting, to playing a role, and also to either feigning or hiding a reaction whenever needed. His work as an assassin really did go hand in hand with his abilities to perform. So he kept a straight face as Citrine's voice spoke to him. It may have come as a momentary surprise for sure, but he was able to keep his calm enough to think back, Consider it a future plan. I can't ever pass up an opportunity to combine forces, musically or otherwise.
There could certainly be time for that later on, since although he had his own personal plans, it was nothing that couldn't be put off for a little while. All he was doing now was probing around for some initial signs anyway. Actions would have to come at a much later time.
"Ah, excellent," Crispin turned to Lila. "Now that's something I can appreciate. I've always said, if it works on the stage, it surely ought to work in battle, and vice versa. For the most part, anyway. Though some skills… you just pick up for the hell of it. I get bored very easily, so I'm always looking for something to occupy my time and attention… and I had a good mentor, alongside that." His expression only wavered just slightly as he mentioned that last part, but there's no need to go into much detail, anyway, so he keeps his cool. "It took hours of training, just the same as training for… well, for using a weapon, for instance."
He glanced next over… up… toward Igostrom. "Biggsby... Hmm. The name almost rings a bell, though I don't think I'm personally acquainted with him. But for all the traveling I've done, there are always places I have yet to visit. Where does this Lord live?"

((As of just like, 12 hours ago, the player who plays Biggsby decided to, for personal reasons, quit the site with this message from Discord:
So idk how we want to address that in this thread. Hopefully he comes back, but who knows?))

((Maybe for this thread we can just write him out? Like leaving for something urgent etc. OTL since he is already involved with Lila and Crispy. Possibly also Sin.)

The half elf got distracted by the other woman who'd joined the after performance celebration. She kept a half eye on her, a little put out that she'd seemed to clamp up. At least she'd gotten a response back from the lad! She turned to him to catch his eye and gave a head nod of approval. She'd hold him to it, as long as she could find him again.
The main topic seemed to shift towards the name of someone named Lord Biggsby, and the title went well over her head. Keeping track of nobles and the like? She tracked them out of wealth or debts owed, not for acquaintance sake. Due to that? Citrine got bored. Quickly.
Rocking on her talons, tail swishing behind her, she busied herself by imagining what sort of role each person here would play in an entertainment show. The word 'circus' still brought a brought taste to her mouth. The more she stood in silence the more extravagant and absurd her thoughts grew.
Conversing about nobles was not her shot of whiskey, so she turned from that conversation towards the one who'd spooked the half elf to silence. "Sae ye say you've used ye fire en battle? How sae?" She folded her wings over her shoulders to drape them both like capes off her shoulders, tugging them around so she didn't accidentally flare them open and smack someone in the face. "An' whut kind o' fire es et? Magical, mundane, somethin' else?" She was curious, having a few different types of fire in her blood herself.

When Crispy Embers fixed his lovely blue eyes on her, next, Lila straightened up. Nothing says pressure like getting the attention of the man of the hour, no matter how fleeting it could be. “True, true. Ever tried raisin’ pets, Crispy? Give me a knife, a loaf of bread, and a couple of hours of free time… and I’ll have a pet alligator rarin’ at the bit,” she cocked her head to the side and grinned, the whites of her teeth bright against the shadows under her hood. After a pause, Lila added in a dry aside, “That, or a half my body missin’. Couldn’t tell which was comin’ next with those overgrown water lizards.”
The performer faced the massive horseman next, before she could ask further about the mentor he had mentioned, and Lila found herself courted by the brightest of the lot. The topic was now about the fancy bigwigs sitting high on their perfumed recliners; she knew better to think that any of it would make sense to someone like her. Hell, the best they had back in Dawnsong was the mayor. And her mother.
The huntress sidled over, as smooth as shadow, between the gaps until she was closer to Citrine. “Nothin’ half as pretty as yours, firebird,” Lila confessed with a laugh, “and not much good for as show, as much as Crispy ‘ere says it is.” Quick as a whip, her hand drew the handaxe sheathed across her back, and the beard lashed down across her arm—the metal glinted once, twice in the light, the tiniest rivulet of blood coating its length.
Then fire, bright and hot and oh-so-intense as the core of a busy forge, sprung up, as though it meant to consume the weapon.
Lila shifted her grip and placed the other end of the axe against one hand, letting the burning head fall flat at the side. Despite the open air, the flames persisted, as though siphoning fuel from some unknown source. “There you go. Care to tell me where you get yours?”

All of those lords and important people had their uses, even he had to admit. There was even once a time when Crispin had wished he could be one of them, had even believed he might be, but that hadn't turned out at all as he'd hoped. Impersonating them was fun, though, when the need arose for it... and getting them to pay for a little entertainment also kept things interesting. He had certainly performed a lot alongside the circus for a number of different people. Sometimes, it was just them setting up in some place off the beaten path and entertaining the regular folk. Other times, one member or another had gotten arrangements to do their show at some noble's fancy home, or party somewhere. It was amazing what a little bit of charm could do, really. So it was fully possible they'd performed for Biggsby.
"I use fire all the time for entertainment, usually to juggle and eat... Though there are times when you just have to set something aflame and toss it, in a more combat-oriented situation..." He mused, thinking things over. He was definitely interested in seeing what he and Citrine could do together. There were plenty of good places where they could set up to play something, at least, whether in some tavern or even an outdoor venue. "A battle is just another form of performance in its way, after all... And I've got a little bit of prestidigitation, so lighting something aflame is pretty easy." A candle, a torch, even a small campfire... sure, it only lasted a small bit of time, but long enough for his purposes, such as juggling those flaming torches.
He looked at Lila. "I can't say I've ever had a pet of my own, but maybe it's something I ought to consider one day... Do you have recommendations that aren't man-eaters?" He grins a little. "Then again, maybe an alligator would be fun in its way. I take it you've dealt with quite the share of unusual animals..." This talk reminded him of a certain animal tamer in his former troupe, but... No, best not to think of all of that right now. For now, he marveled at what she did with the axe, clapping afterward. "Now that's impressive!"
