Party: The two of you make your way south, past the pile of slain undead, past the now disarmed crossbow trap, and past the room full of stone coffins and into the as of yet unexplored southernmost hallway. You travel a little way down the dusty, cobwebbed stone corridor until you come across a rusted iron grate set across your path. The door through is already open, a small brass key turned and left in the lock, and the fresher, still somewhat moist blood trail continues through. Beyond you can hear the roar of running water. Though it’s difficult to make in the light of Crucible’s shield, the floor ahead is darker and more shadowed and you see what looks to be the beginnings of a wooden plank set across it.

Crucible stopped just before the plank on the ground, again wishing his light reached further. He shrugged the idea off, and got back to the task at hand. Running water certainly wasn't something he expected, considering they were under a graveyard. Though underground rivers couldn't be too uncommon. Only time would tell.

Juliette led the way, both swords drawn, more comfortable now she was at the front of the pair rather than lingering behind like a coward.
"If you think the darkness will shelter you, abomination, you will be disappointed." She declared brazenly into the darkness, head high, ready for attack as she advanced. "You will find no succour for your kind here."

Mystery roll: UiLbBPre1d20+1 / 1d20+1
Party: Pressing forward and following the bouncing echo of Juliette's challenge, you cross through the open grate and approach what is soon to be revealed as a stone gorge cutting across the tomb corridor. The passage opens up into a wide and deep expanse of chilled and moist air and the putrid stench of refuse wafts up from below, along with the now louder sound of water rushing fiercely by. A single stone column rises up from the gloom near the center of the gorge. Crossing from your side to it and then to the other side of the gorge are a series of wooden planks. They're thin and narrow, though still wide enough to use as a crossing, but the wood is pocketed with bits of mildew and lichen. The blood trail continues unceasing across it.
Passive perception (all): As Juliette's voice fades into the dark, the sound of rushing water is soon accompanied by the shrill ring of metal clanking against stone. It grows louder and louder and louder and then suddenly stops somewhere in the gloom on the other side of the gorge. 1d20+1·1d20+1

Juliette was not intimidated by the sounds ahead - that merely meant that they were, perhaps, approaching the end of this long and winding trail. The fact that there was a gorge in the tomb struck her as unusual, but such was not enough to prevent her from continuing her quest. So, she strode forwards, prepared for attack at any moment.

Juliette: You stride across the first of the two planks and, though it wobbles and creaks with each step, you and your light frame make it with relatively little difficulty to the pillar. The smell of sewage is now all around you and you feel droplets of moisture from the air begin to bead against your armor and skin. You begin to cross the second plank. As you do you see something flash in the darkness ahead of you, the likes of metal catching the faint glint off Crucible’s shield. It arcs down, you hear the thud of something cutting into wood, and feel the plank rattle and groan.

Mysterious damage: 2d4+4
The wood remains whole. However, the jostle is enough to tip your balance slightly on the narrow strip of wood.
Can I get a Dex saving throw from Juliette ? 1d20+6·2d4+4

Juliette: You easily keep your balance on the weathered plank of wood, riding each tilt with deftness. You see the glint of metal again in the shadows.
Juliette and 3personal5me , let's roll initiative to keep this a bit more organized! You're being confronted by an unknown denizen of the tomb as you attempt your crossing of the carved gorge.

Juliette didn't even pause in her stride. She didn't dignify the attack with any recognition whatsoever. She simply continued to stride forward into the darkness, trusting that Crucible - and thus, light - would follow behind her. She was certain that whatever forces were working against them here, their insistance on using the dark to cloak themselves would prove their undoing; her Goddess was in every shadow, and would not allow Her chosen agent to fall.
(Juliette will just carry on forward, twice if necessary to cover the cavern. She will also attempt to move Hunter's Mark onto the source of the attack if she can get close enough to count as seeing it - and if she's in range, she will of course attack, but I'm not entirely clear on the scale here)

(The scale is an absolute MESS, but I’ve established the planks of wood as being 15’ long, so Juliette can cross the rest of the way no problem. She can only make it to the very end of the blank though, because…)
Crossing the rest of the weathered plank with confidence but care, Juliette approaches the gloom at the other side of the gorge. The blackness of the tomb swallows what remaining faint light there is from Crucible’s shield. As she nears the very end of the makeshift bridge, Juliette can just make out a short, black smudge darker than the rest of the shadowed ledge. A glint of metal flashes for a moment again.
Whatever enemy is there is at the very edge of the opposing ledge but, without darkvision or light, the nature of that enemy is still shrouded in mystery. Unfortunately, this also means that Juliette is unable to place her Hunter’s Mark.
Let me know if you want to continue with the attack or not Juliette ! Since I'm (pretty sure) Juliette doesn't have darkvision, it would be at disadvantage.

Juliette's first swing meets nothing but open darkness, but the second strikes the shadow and elicits a wheezy grunt.
Initiative Order:
- Juliette
- Crucible
- Mystery Foe
So 3personal5me is up!

Crucible eyed the plank of wood as he eased his weight onto it. It creaked, groaned, and otherwise complained, but seemed to hold. One foot after another, slowly, he made his way to the central stone pillar. Hopefully his shields light would illuminate whatever Juliette currently faced.
