“Nope!” Enchee had absolutely no idea where she was going. But she was going alright. As fast as she could. Tug, tug.
Eventually, Crucible would direct her somewhere. Surely? Cmon?
She wasn’t just excited. She was bursting with it. Enchee was really happy to see Thea again, and she was really happy her two friends were going to be friends now. It was like... well she knew what it was like. She didn’t want to admit it. If she did, then that meant she wanted it, but she didn’t. Enchee made friends as friends. Enchee didn’t need friends because Enchee had Enchee and Enchee didn’t need anything vaguely resembling a family because otherwise they wouldn’t be dead.

Thea raised both eyebrows at the phrase positive guidance, and giggled. “No – no thanks needed!” She was still rushing after Enchee, half-running along the street, glad that the Trades Wards kept the streets in good repair and that she was wearing boots, rather than the delicate slippers she sometimes favored. “It’s my pleasure to spend some time with Enchee.” If Enchee didn’t know where they were going, then…
"I know a great place!" Thea said, cheerfully. "Don't worry, Enchee, I'll show you the way."
Thea inhaled, and exhaled, murmuring a few words and gesturing with her free hand at Enchee. A little puff of wind spun out of nothing and shoved the little goblin girl, gently pushing her left at the next intersection. Thea knew a place they could go, and she would cheerfully endeavor to use the wind to guide Enchee towards the restaurant, thinking the little goblin would find it fun and not thinking any more deeply about the casual use of magic than that. ((Enchee can resist the spell if you want! Str save, spell DC 14))

Despite her size, Enchee moved surprisingly fast, and Crucible had to jog to keep up with her. His equipment rattled rhythmically as he fell into a steady pace. "I have to ask, how did you two meet? It better not involve pickpocketing". He eyed the goblin at the last part, remembering how he had met her.

Enchee froze a little, feeling her little body compelled to move in a direction she had not turned to go. And then she remembered the wind in Thea’s hair, and her stories about the ... she’d forgotten the name but she still remembered the words. And she gasped and laughed and clapped. Her new friend Thea was an excellent saucer er. She had air in her magic sauce.
“Yay!” She squealed, feeling her hair knot itself tighter than it had been before she brushed it.
“Uhhhh... it doesn’t involve pickpocketing.” That was true, at least. She didn’t pickpocket Thea, and they hadn’t met because of any kind of pickpocketing at all. Enchee had lost all ability to lie to Crucible. It felt pointless and ate at her, until she spilled out the truth. Enchee was an easy little goblin to get information out of, any pressure and she buckled.
“I have never attempted to pickpocket Thea.” Enchee said with a yellowed smile, stopping to turn around and show it off.

Thea grinned, broadly, relieved that Enchee seemed to enjoy the little wind push. She murmured and gestured again, summoning a second one to direct Enchee right at the next intersection. “We should stop up ahead!” Thea giggled. “Just there,” she pointed at a large building painted a very, very bright green.
The abrupt stop was something of a relief; Thea came to a halt much less noisily than Crucible, feet throbbing slightly. She really didn’t run much anymore. It was a little embarrassed to be hauled about by Enchee like this, mostly just because it showed her how out of shape she had become.
Thea glanced down at the goblin, then smiled at Crucible. She wouldn’t rat Enchee out; it sounded like Crucible had a perfectly good idea of what he was up against, and Thea didn’t need to pile on. “I’m a glassblower,” Thea explained. “I work at Thond Glass and Glazing, actually. Enchee came to a show of mine some time ago; there was no pickpocketing involved."

Crucible slowed to a stop, taking in the building before them. He had almost no knowledge of the dining in Waterdeep (or indeed, cuisine in general). He assumed, however, that it was a good choice. "Well, I'm glad to hear it then. I'm sure Enchee hasn't forgotten our previous talks".

“We didn’t have any previous talks, silly! I’m... fine! I’m just a cute little goblin girl who goes to temple on time and has never, and would never, steal anything from anyone out of some compulsion that takes over as an itch that has to be scratched, like a dragon adding to its horde, to fill some kind of hole that was dug the second it had everything taken away from it. At all. That’s not Enchee!”
Enchee laughed, then rushed off to the building, as fast as she could. She left her friends behind, and turned around to wave at them when she was outside. She jumped high, hair bouncing like it was doing its own jump on her scalp. And then she waited. Why were adults so slow? She put her hand in her pocket, turning over the thing she knew she wasn’t supposed to have. They wore silly shoes, spent too much time trying to look good, and then never ran anywhere. Running was fun, it was the best way to get anywhere.
And it wasn’t painfully slow!

Thea grinned at Crucible, in a friendly way, and looked back to watch Enchee race off towards the building down the street. The little goblin bounced up and down in front of the lime green building. Thea giggled. “That was surprisingly self-aware,” she said, wryly, eyes on Enchee. Now that she wasn’t being tugged along by the young girl, she walked at a more normal pace, although still making her way quickly towards the restaurant.
“How did you and Enchee meet?” Thea asked Crucible.

Crucible easily kept up with Thea, his boots tjudding heavily with every step. "She tried to rob me", he confessed. "Tried to steal from my coin purse. Something about seeing a kid forced to steal just didn't sit right with me". The memory was still fresh in his mind, having not been too long ago. "I figured I would keep an eye on her".

Enchee, somehow, was still bouncing around. She actually started to climb up the walls before she decided it was a bad idea because at least one person would freak out pretty badly if she did that.
After a hot minute had passed, she pulled out Queso, and gave her smallest friend a good scratch behind the ears. She giggled as Queso ran into her hair.

Thea nodded, looking at Crucible. “I’m glad someone is,” she said, seriously, and took a deep breath. “I would very much like to help you. I’ve offered to help Enchee with her reading and writing. I hope you won’t think it – an intrusion.”
They were still a few moments away from Enchee; she was a fast runner.
The door of the restaurant opened, and two dark-skinned humans walked out, chatting with one another. Smells wafted out from inside – amazing smells. It smelled like pork, and strange spices that would be very foreign to Enchee’s nose. Just inside the door, she could see thick leafy green foliage overhanging the entrance, and a tempting flower hovering overhead, just out of research.
The door closed again, leaving just a faint whiff of the food in the air; it faded before long, the world going back to its usual Waterdhavian smell.

Crucible nodded in agreement. "Please, be my guest. I'm sure you're aware of what a handful she can be". He chuckled as he watched her play with Queso. "I could certainly use the help. I hope to one day turn her into a fine, upstanding citizen".

Enchee searched in her hair for Queso, almost half an arm deep. She found nothing, shrugged, and elected to start to jump for the flower. Enchee just... couldn’t quite get to it.
Her initiative, or maybe childish stupidity, kicked in. She started hunting around for something to stand on. And, seeing nothing, she sighed, still staring daggers at the plant. She tried to pull the foliage down, but she needed two whole hands to do that, and she didn’t have three—
Enchee had three hands! She fumbled with her orb, which summoned her weird hand thingy that floated around.
Then her mage hand flew up, knife in hand... ha... in hand.
Right through the stem! She caught it with her floating hand before she even thought about it.

“It’s a fine goal,” Thea smiled, agreement in her voice and eyes.
“Oh!” Thea’s eyes went wide when Enchee abruptly disappeared inside the restaurant. She hesitated a moment, then started walking much more quickly towards the building. She lunged for the door and yanked it open just in time to see Enchee’s mage hand hovering straight up and cutting through the stem of the gorgeous flower.
Thea gasped. “Enchee!” She stepped forward, hands on her hips. “What – ” She looked up at the gaping stem where the flower had hung, then back down at the goblin. “What were you thinking?” She scolded.
The inside of the restaurant was a riotous bloom of leaves and fines; the foliage all around the entrance seemed to pulse and throb with green growing life right before one’s eyes. The huge bell-shaped flower that had hung over the door moments earlier was a gorgeous red, deep on the edges and paling to almost pink deep inside the bloom. It wasn’t the only one; there were other scattered through the foliage that climbed up unexpectedly high walls, and even crawled across the ceiling. None of the others were quite so lovely, however.
The little entryway of greenery led deeper inside; there was a faint haze of smoke that seemed to hang over something at the end of the path, and the whole room smelled like roasting pig and unfamiliar spices.

Crucible was right behind Thea through the door, seeing Enchee retrieve the flower with magic. He rolled his eyes, already doing the math on how much the flower would cost him. She was certainly a troublemaker, through and through, and he knew her having magic would only make her harder to raise. He just hoped she never learned to turn invisible.
"Oh, don't be so worried. I'm sure she just wanted to pick out a pretty flower for you". He winked at Enchee, hoping she would get the hint and offer up the flower. He was sure Thea would see right through it anyways. "Perhaps we should get a table before she decides to get you another gift".
