Vim released the man, assuming he could stand, or if he fell that it’s not really all that far down to fall. She was more concerned with protecting herself, because she was the thing protecting him and in fact his wife. Not that they’d seen her yet.

The man yelled when Vim let him off, but not because of the fall but because he could see what kind of bloody fight was about to ensue. The first strike from Vim was dodged by the women who managed to just turn her body the right way so that the sword would end up slashing through a piece of the mistmached shoulder piece she was wearing instead of her body and retaliated with an attack of her own against the chest area of Vim. While the attack impacted it wasn't enough to pierce the chainmail, but it hurt like being hit with a metal bar to the ribs.
Soon enough the angry disgusted man joined in, though he was far less proficient in the art of war than the women was and he would prove no match for Vim even though she was facing against two opponents at the same time. Dolf on the other hand, began to try and worm his way out of the situation, toward one of the trees. Lara came out then, and began to run towards Dolf, though it would be quite a few seconds more before she reached him.

Vim had faith Lara could sort herself and Dolf out just fine, instead turning complete focus to the fight ahead. Sure there were two, but neither had the belief in beauty and womanhood as she did, that there was strength in acts, and acts were beauty, that beauty was strong. Vim was strong, because she was beautiful, and she was beautiful because she was strong, but the main beauty was her faith in her sword and her goddess. And herself. She noticed one opponent was more trained than the other, and focused on her instead of the man beside her.

And Vim's faith would be proven right as with one swift stroke after the first one barely managed to miss the mark, she felled the woman in one righteous hit spilling her blood over the ground, without so much as a whimper on her part, she crumbled to the side, strength failing her as she tried to get back up but only managing to delay the inevitable for another second before blood splurted from the wound and she passed out on the spot. The man though was still very much alive and in fundamental disagreement with the idea that he should die as well, he had seen Vim get wounded: It would stand to reason that he could finish the job and also cash in the reward, as well as keep her items right? So he did try to get her as well.
On the other hand Lara finally reached Dolf and leaned on to him, quickly beginning to untie the bindings on his body. They talked, but in the midst of the combat and steel clashing it was hard to pay attention to what was being said.

Vim would check once they were both down that they weren’t dead. It was really self defence, so it wasn’t too much a legal thing, but morally it didn’t feel right to go out killing people. Maybe on a battlefield, in a squad, with a commander and a base, an enemy who were set up to do the same thing, but there was no war here. Just a fight. People shouldn’t die in fights.

The man was struck just as swiftly as the woman had been moments before, and the sword slashed through the gaps in his mismatched armor, that to be fair were quite big and easy to reach, and made a wide cut on his belly prompting him to drop the weapon and fall to the ground, both hands trying to keep his insides, well, inside as he clutched his body and fell to the ground. He wasn't dead, not yet at least. By that time Lara had helped Dolf get up and about, and the man staggered, beaten up as he was, with one hand across the shoulder of his wife.
"You killed them!"
Said Dolf, and though they weren't dead to the untrained eye they were dead or about to be. There wasn't accusation in his voice, just mere shock at the sight.
"She's on our side"
Said Lara then, looking at him and then at Vim
"Are you okay?"
Lara asked then at Vim, worried, disregarding the wounded assailants bleeding on the ground. It was just then right now, in the forest.

“I’m perfectly fine now I- I don’t think they’re dead. Not much I can really do for them, but, uh, not dead. They’re unconscious. Just bleeding a bit, trust me, day’s rest and they’ll be right as rain!” Vim grinned. She didn’t need to check, but she did bring the incapacitated pair into the shack, at least to keep them as safe as possible. The tiefling knew that they were stable, it was all in the way she had swung the sword. Happened once with a deer she’d managed to sneak up on for dinner. Fun night.
She wiped her sword off on the ground, then gasped and extended her hand to Dolf as she lazily slung her sword into its scabbard. “My name is Vim, some call me a troublemaker, but mostly I help people like you. I did try to do it the nice way but, they just weren’t interested in letting me talk to you. Do you know why they grabbed you?”
Vim was concerned that it could happen again, she didn’t mind running after Dolf or Lara, but it was just like... she was supposed to get some potatoes for her ma and that was it, she wasn’t supposed to be doing this kind of thing but... good coincidence she went all suited up. It was a healthy fear of highwaymen and people size root vegetables coming alive to avenge their boiled brethren. That totally happened once.

Dolf didn't seem as convinced as Vim that they would live, but he didn't seem all that concerned for their lives. Which all things considered, it was already showing what kind of man he was by the fact he was not kicking them while they were down, after they had been, by the looks of it, torturing him for at least a few couple hours and willing to have him pass off as a criminal to collect a bounty. Of course, there was always the chance that the two armed thugs were, in fact, right and Dolf was the person they had been after the whole time had they not been lying.
"I..." Said Dolf trying to find the words, not really used to seeing that kind of action or bloodshed. It took him a few seconds to find the words, but he settled upon simplicty. "Thank you, Vim" Said then.
Lara was teary eyed, though not due to the pain as Dolf was but at the sight of seeing him so roughed up and the risk they had all just been in.
"No, I don't have any idea, I was just minding my own business with my wife"
He looked at Lara, and then back at Vim
When they jumped at me out of nowhere, pushed her aside and knocked me unconcious. I didn't even get to say anything next time I regained conciousness I was tied and gagged in some place I didn't knew. If you hadn't come when you did I... I had no idea what would have happened to me"
Dolf explained to her as best as he could, with some pauses in between the sentences as his breathing was heavy, the pain he felt through his body making it difficult to concentrate sometimes.
"I haven't seen them either before this, I thought they might be bandits or thieves but..." Said Lara then.

“Hey, let’s have a look at your wounds. Which is the worst? I don’t think I can fix you up properly but I can make it bearable. Maybe. I’d have to try.” Vim smiled, and, while acting confident, she wasn’t particularly feeling it. She wasn’t a beacon of holy magic, she could glean enough to definitely fix a grazed up knee of a kid that fell over while playing some game akin to tag, that was about the limit. “I have a little bit of like, uh. Miracle ability.” She went full airquotes, not really sure what to say. She’d never described it before. She’d never had to.

It took both of them a few seconds to actually react to what she had just said, the first one to do so was Lara while Dolf echoed the question merely fragments of a second later.
"What?"
What were the odds that the person who had just helped them also was able to magically heal people? It was not as if that kind of magic was commonplace or they had access to healing potions or similar things. Dolf seemed a bit thoughtful about that, particularly about getting magic used on him. It took him but a moment but he finally said.
"My head, definitely my head"
Lara then looked at him worried, and then looked at Vim, expectant, unsure of what she would so.
"You can... heal people...?"

“Mhm! Just a little, but surely it’ll make a difference.”
Vim places her hand on Dolf’s head, as gently as she could. Slowly, it began to flood with healing energies. She felt it in her heart, in her spirit, that she would give herself to heal this man, to see him flourish, the gods must answer the plea of Vim, as she was their ever faithful servant and would not stop until all were protected and safe from those who would harm them.

The dude, with his whopping 4 max hp, is fully healed Dolf took a deep breath, at first it was surprise but then it was a surprised kind of pleasure as that inner light spread through him and his wounds stopped bleeding and closed up as a very surprised Lara bore witness to the whole deed. "By the gods!" She said taken aback but with a smile upon her lips, it was as if suddenly she had become a bit speechless. "You really can heal people!" "I... I don't even feel pain anymore" The man said with eyes open wide as plates, and then with both of his hands he began to pat his own face, feeling how his wounds had disappeared. Slowly, he began to stand on his own without Lara's help. "Oh my gods, thank you! How did you -do- that?" Said Dolf before exchanging one quick look with Lara and then back at Vim.

“The gods, the gods!” Vim explained, while hardly explaining anything at all, “I dedicated myself to the gods, to Sune, specifically. I have an oath to protect, to establish beauty and preserve life, and that’s my job, that’s what I do. Other than makin’ some pretty badass moonshine. Some homebrewed ales and very occasionally, I like to play bagpipes.”
“It’s just something I do, it’s not much, really, I’m just a poor kid from the rough side of town, but aren’t we all? Speaking of rough, I wanna make sure you guys get home safe. Where are you two headin’ off to? I really ought to get to my momma before she tells me off for not bringin’ home no bacon. That’s literal, I have meat in my bag.”

"Well thank you! What's your name again?" Dolf asked then shaking his head slowly as if trying to wake himself up from a dream.
The whole explanation seemed a bit out of character, or would have seemed so if Vim herself had not seemed to them like some outlandish fairy tale character to them. A woman with the power to heal people that also helped them along just because? Not that was something. To say both of them were pretty impressed would be underselling it. "We... Well we-" Said Lara and then turned towards Dolf for confirmation
Dolf just chuckled and nodded "Yeah, we'd really like to go home now, away from... these people, whoever they are. Though maybe we should notify the lord..." Added then at the end, since he wouldn't want to see the pair return for him after Vim was done.
"Wait a minute, your momma?" Added Lara then as if she had been still processing that bit.
