Astra quickly notices, with startling accuracy, that her delightful, practical boots are untied in terms of the laces โ that is to say, her laces are undone, and she finds nothing of relevance.

"Sure"
Said the Wizard as he gazed down deep within the hole with a rather skeptical look, that kind of look that reflected just how dead inside he was feeling at the moment.
"I got nothing better to do with my life anyways. Guy can literally bend reality to it's will and this guy is like "hey you, get the shovel and start digging""
He whispered the last part, but just as he was about to jump down the hole and start doing some shenanigans Citrine swooped down like an overgrown eagle or a much prettier harpy and snatched Stephen out of the ground. Malakbel, naturally, cheered and gave out a rather loud.
"Yes!!"
Chuckling to himself and greatly enjoying the brief panic Stephen suffered. He really thought she was going to drop him, but she didn't. That... Was actually pretty useful he realised. Bring some one else with her, that probably was more used to picking out details than she was. The fact that he did not think of that beforehand didn't make him feel stupid, it made him feel retarded. It was that much of a gap. Like if he had been pushing with both hands for an hour at a door that said "pull", only for a bird to open the door from the other side, walk across, look at him dead in the eye and then fly away. Luckily all that was happening within his mind and for the most part he was privy to his own shame and embarassment. And the most times he felt that emotion was when he felt dumb, for any particular reason.
With them flying, the Yuan-ti used the time to inspect the area looking for anything the rest of the group could have missed, either with the shovel man, such as the nature of his existance, or the particular place he was in. Everything else he felt, would fall into place soon enough.

After hearing the elf's proposal he nodded in agreement.
"Murder solves every problem"
He said, whether he actually meant it or not was anyone's guess.1d20+3

"I propose an ambush. We can hide in the hole, then leap out to attack when they draw close. Citrine can fly overhead, as a scout". He glanced at the sky, judging how much time they had left. "We can shove the body in the whole and hide with it. An illusion would be helpful, but we can make do if we must". He had already begun to drag the corpse towards the hole in the ground.

Upon hearing Stephenโs suggestion, Astra brought her hands up in the air and walked over to the nearest pit. Her gestures were clean and efficient, wasting none of her energy for grand showboating, as she cast an illusory cantrip. A mound of dirt appeared. She tucked her tome against her chest and ducked inside, piercing through the strange image with cartoonish ease. She had a clear line of fire from here.

N ever one to pass up the chance to support from above Citrine saluted once more. "Ef Aye can grab one o' 'em an ask 'em ah few questions? Aye'll dae so. Might make us figuring out this mystery ah bit easier." With that? She re-launched herself into the sky. Climbing higher to hover around 200 feet so her profile would look like a bird from down below if someone happened to look up.When the caravan got closer and it seemed they hadn't noticed her? She'd drop down to 100 feet, letting her join the frey in seconds trouble began. Clenching her talons into fists then loosening, she waited with a bloodthirsty grin for the chance to plummet from the sky and sink her claws in the shoulders of one of their targets. She'd found, over the years of needing to gain information from foes, that when one dangles high in the air with nothing to stop their fall? They were much more willing to give up information for a chance to get back on the ground.((Current word count: 7,810))

Although Citrine loomed over them like a heavy cloud of bird and heat and potential violence, the figures on the cart made no real reaction to her, at most, the one at the back, who was holding a sack, briefly, briefly looked up, then seemed to completely shrug her off.
At 100ft it was too hard to really distinguish anything about the people besides that they were people, on a cart, with horses, headed for the mound.
Of course, eventually, they did reach the mound. And, then, they set to work. Or, they would have, as they could not find whatever it was they were looking for. They stood around, just... looking.
