The flap of the tent behind them swung open, the ringleader stepping out into the night air. The satyr's eyes would go from lively, enthusiastic, and thoroughly afraid to blank and dull; his hoofed feet scraped against the ground, and he shoved open the cage door with his shoulder, facing down Citrine.
((as agreed on discord: Roll acrobatics or athletics check to see if Citrine stays on her feet with the satyr slamming the cage door into her))

She knew the moment the satyr's eyes opened like it did that they had run out of time. Before she could even respond to the complement she was shoved backwards, but her quick feet and even quicker wing work had her back flipping and hovering a moment before landing on the ground. She glanced from the ringleader to the saytr, groaned, then turned to glare at the ringleader.
"Aye told ye, ef Aye see ye again, Aye'd kill ye." She grinned, teeth glowing in the fire that sprung from her wings and lifted to hover ten feet into the air to be out of range of the satyr. She made an interesting sort of hand and finger movement, paired with a soothing entrancing melody of a phoenix song, and clung to her arcane focus for all she was worth as she attempted to invade the ringleader's mind with new imagery of her choosing.
(He must make an intelligence saving throw, DC 14. The spell is Phantasmal Force. This is the spell Citrine used to show Thea what her ship, Gozreh's Firebird looked like fyi. No damage is done, but if he fails I will write up his illusion he is living in.)

The tell tale sign of someone fading under her illusions had Citrine crowing in delight and doing a small back flip in celebration.
For the ringleader though?
((To try and break out of the illusion, he must have the thought to attempt an intelligent (Investigation) check against the save DC 14 to study the scene and realize he is in an illusion. Up to you how soon he has the thought, etc etc))
While the ringmaster was in a daze Citrine would fly over to him, one hand still on her arcane focus to keep the spell going, and look to see if there was a way to pluck the whip out of his hand and get the strap off his wrist. And, just in case the saytr was still mind controlled, she made sure to hover ten feet up off the ground to not get shoulder-trounced again. "Ye yeself while his mind esn't focusin' on ye, Lad?"
Action - spell, P. force Bonus - nothing Move - adjust to hover 10 feet above ring leader

Citrine would find that the ringleader still held the whip tight, his fingers loose around the handle with the strap tight on his wrist. It was a thick metal strap, and with his hand dangling towards the ground, it was hard to imagine how she could get it without coming in the satyr's range.
Unfortunately for Citrine, the satyr was still pacing back and forth, eyes firmly on his would-be friend, pawing at the ground with one hoofed foot; there was no sign of life in his eyes.
The ringleader sat, shivering and huddling his knees, shaking. Fear raced through him as the root wrapped around him, yanking him back. He was utterly terrified, and freezing cold, and looked up with anger and fear mingled together at the fey Queen, shivering miserably.
It was only when the voice that emerged was not his own that the ringleader’s mind would rebel against the illusion…

"Fook." She groaned, the satyr clearly not himself. No matter. She moved down to land at the side of the ringleader (move action) on the ground while he just stood there, numbed, and shivered. Yes, it was cold there, wasn't it? He'd never last there for three months like she had, that was easy to see.
Citrine lifted his arm and began tugging on the leather strap (using her action) in order to take the whip from him, careful not to nick him with her claws. She didn't want to risk fate by even accidentally unintentionally hurting him, the still too-tight collar around her neck reminded her. And hopefully? If she got the whip, the spell over the saytr would be broken.
((Let me know if I can take the whip, or if there is a roll, or any other repercussion.))

The ringleader just stood, shaking and shivering. His fingers loosened ever so slightly more on the strap, giving Citrine space to try and loosen it.

Unfortunately for Citrine, the moment she landed? The satyr would charge, attempting to ram her.

Simply side-stepping Citrine let the saytr run past her, allowing her to focus on removing the whip.

Grumbling, muttering, Citrine heard the hooves come closer and side-stepped yet again to let the mind controlled hybrid run past a second time. She was busy focusing on the whip and the stupid knots he'd used to tie it to his wrist. It was almost like he was paranoid about someone taking it or something. Weird.
Slight of hand: pO5EXUsO1d20+3
And, yes! The whip came loose, the phoenix now holding the whip in her hands.
Only to look up when she felt the spell focus she was concentrating on fade and fizzle. She slowly rose up her gaze to see the ringleader looking down. With a cheeky grin she winked at him and put the whip behind her back like a child would. She then spat at his feet and spread her wings to fly into the air. "Aye'll be nice an' give ye ah head start boy-o. Aye like tae hit me targets frum behind."

The ringleader was shaking, hands clenching into tight fists. He spat on the ground, glaring up at Citrine, words once again echoing simultaneously aloud and in her head - just as his previous commands had. " Get in the satyr's cage - and this time, stay there!"
((Please roll ))
